Five Things

November 2nd, 2012

{A shot I took from my last trip to New York in September}

At the beginning of the week I felt so removed from Hurricane Sandy. Several days later I still can’t comprehend the extent of damage, devastation, and loss, but what I did witness – from across the country – was the strength and perseverance of people coming together. I made a donation to the Red Cross (you can do the same here) and my thoughts are with those who have been affected. I’m traveling to the East Coast next week for a segment on The Today Show next Friday, 11/9 and then onto the D.C. area for an additional book signing (details here) on 11/13. It should be a busy week, so I’m looking forward to a relaxing couple of days off.

{Supplies I’m bringing with me for my segment on homemade gifts (1st and 2nd times here and here}

{Chilly evenings by the candle-lit fireplace in a blanket my grandma knit for me}

{A trip to see the incredible Kubrick exhibit at LACMA – comprehensive post coming next week}

    Hi Emily-

    Thank you for your NY love. This city needs it. Will you be doing any additional book signings in the city during your visit? I sadly could not make the first one. P.S. I kinda want to steal the Kubrick chair for my own home.

    Emily, while you’re in DC, or perhaps another time, you should do a book signing at politics and prose (http://www.politics-prose.com/). It’s a great book store! very cute and trendy.
