Five Things

March 9th, 2012

{Putting together relaxed outfits for SXSW}

I’m leaving for Austin on Sunday (with my fiancé and one of my best friends) and am thrilled to experience everything the city has to offer. I’ll be speaking on Tuesday afternoon, for those of you that will be at SXSW, and we’ll be filling the rest of our stay with a trip to Barton Springs, lots of barbecue, and vintage shopping. I hope you have a great weekend and here are five things that kept me inspired this week.

{A little spongey tool that makes a big difference in blending make-up}

{Nighttime reading in anticipation of our honeymoon}

{My favorite scent that makes my entire closet smell heavenly}

{Favorite new pick-me-up: Pinkberry’s Blood Orange frozen yogurt}

    I seriously think that they put something in those Pinkberry-s that make them addictive. My aunt and cousin were down to visit for about a week and we ended up having about 2 a day. This should probably not be deemed *normal* behavior. But there’s just something about them ^_^

    Hey Emily. I was searching through the internet and stumbled across this boutique called Cashmere & Cupcakes (http://cashmereandcupcakes.ca/about). What is your take on people who take your ideas and flip it around to be their own? Do you find it flattering that they admire your work or that they are simply unoriginal. Let us readers know. Thanks!

    You will have so much fun at SXSW. I live in Austin and I am so sad I can’t go see you speak The Driskill because my work schedule conflicts with the time :( . County Line on the lake has amazing barbeque and a great atmosphere on the lake! And if you get tired of BBQ The Oasis has delicious drinks and the best view in Austin.

  • http://www.artsoulfood.blogspot.com Kasey Bell

    Also for some of the best vintage shopping go to South Congres ave, my favorite shop on SoCo is Unique and Uncommon Objects, it is a big quirky antique store much like the antique stores in the Old Town Orange Circle in Orange, CA. My favorite places for food on South Congress are The Snack Bar (for brunch), Homeslice Pizza and Perla’s (amazing oysters!!). Hope you have fun and enjoy the city I call home!

  • Nicole G

    Hope you have a great trip! That is a fabulous straw tote! Where did you find it? The handles look very sturdy! Love it!

    Hi,
    I live in Italy and I’m so proud about your honeymoon in Italy. I live in the North, near Parma.
    Parma is very beautiful and interesting and in Emilia Romagna you can eat a lot of tasty things! I recommend to visit Bologna, Parma..and then Toscana (Siena, Montepulciano) and Umbria.
    Have a good day,
    forgive me for my bad english.
    Many wishes,
    Angela
