Falling for Toffee
Despite the fact that it’s still July, I’ve been on a mission to find the perfect Fall bag. Obsessive? Perhaps. But I’d rather browse the expansive selection that currently exists instead of trudging around in the rain come October and settling for whatever is still available. I’ve always been drawn to slightly under-the-radar brands (I’ve been carrying by Rebecca Minkoff ‘Morning After‘ bag now for almost a year) and find them far more appealing than ones that have the logo slapped across every square inch.
I’ve been stalking the window display of the Foley + Corinna store on Melrose now for about six months, and finally decided on the Classic Mid City Tote in Maple. The leather is buttery-soft and in a toffee color that complements my olive complexion, I was sold. The versatility of the bag is unbelievable, especially for someone as fickle as me. I love how I can hold the sturdy grip at the top, or simply fold it in half and use the long strap to throw over my shoulder. Since there’s no way that I’ll be waiting until the weather turns to bust out my new bag, I can promise pictures very soon.
EDIT: Thanks to the lovely FashionHerald for the tip that Gap has a wonderfully similar option, made of nylon, for those of you not interested in such an investment.

I agree with under the radar approach. I have a hayden-harnett bag in a darker brown that i love, but I love this color maple.
You better watch yourself – I might try to steal that from you the first time you bring it out somewhere.

Love the bag in this color! I have it in a greyish/ brown color that I got on major sale at Calypso at South Coast Plaza. I use it ALLLL the time. Such a great bag!
The 444 price tag might as well be 666 because my bank account would surely be in hell if I spent that money right now. On the other hand, the nylon version is a lovely consolation prize.

oh love the bag and the color!! oh and my hair is naturally stick straight… that’s how my hair looks ends up practically 10 minutes after curling it with a curling iron.. lol. but at least those minimal waves remain for the entire day i guess.

I LOVE, LOVE this bag! I have the exact same one in the exact same color. I’ve had it for a year and half now and it’s been my go to bag for everything
So obviously there’s some distress to it and although it does give it some character, was curious if you have any tips or tricks on how to maintain the bag because every time you feature it on your blog it looks brand new. Thanks in advance!
