Falling for Autumn: Part 3

For the third installment of my favorite picks for fall (click here for parts 1 and 2), I chose classic items with unexpected details. I’ve been wearing sparkly nail polish for years (namely here) and carrying structured bags since college (here), but I love the slightly androgynous feel of preppy oxfords and edgy leather shorts. Plus, since it’s officially September, I don’t feel as bad for not embracing the last days of summer and looking forward to the approaching season.

Love that you have picked some gorgeous (expensive) things like the Marc Jacobs brogues along with quality, but more affordable things like the Topshop bag. Thought both Topshop shorts looked too much like lederhosen though. OK if you’re Bavarian.

I love the bags and those shoes! I’ve been looking for a good simple, classic leather hand bag for a while now. It’s definitely something timeless that you can put together with any outfit.

Hi Emily! There is no other blog I look more forward to reading each time then yours. You have the perfect mix of useful tips mixed with beautiful pictures to display your ideas. I was excited to read what some of your fashion picks were for fall- and I must say I couldn’t agree more…however, it will be interesting to see if I can pull these off! I love fashion, but when it comes down to me actually trying to pull off some of these trends, I try to execute it in a very subtle way. I am a full time student, so I love wearing oxfords to class with shorts and a simple cardigan. But instead of the plain brown oxfords, I LOVE the other options you have given us! These small changes can help glam up any outfit- and its great for chickens like me who are just getting used to the idea of leather shorts…we’ll see!
