Early Haunts

October 1st, 2008

Even though I started to voice my excitement for Halloween, oh about two weeks back, now that it’s officially October, I think it’s finally acceptable to share how I’ve begun to decorate.

In an unpredictable blend of black and dark reds, this feather wreath is such an ominous addition to the front door. I won’t be getting any trick-or-treaters this year, but at least my place looks like it would be a prime location for scoring some good candy.

Martha Stewart does everything right, including these bat mirror clings that are a subtle addition to my living room. I love the eerie effect they create and since they’re made of black vinyl, I can use them year after year.

These skull candle holders aren’t available online, but I’ve been enjoying their playfully creepy ambiance for the past few nights. Z. Gallery’s metallic skull and Pottery Barn’s glitter skull are other fabulous options, but since they’re on the pricier side, I might just have to stop in after the 31st for a post Halloween sale.

I love that you decorated for Halloween. You’ve inspired me to do the same.

Also: this is totally off topic but didn’t you buy those gorgeous caramel brown Loeffler Randall knee high boots some time back? Or something very similar? If you did, can you send me the link to that post — I want them too!

    Thanks :)
