Downtown Discoveries

July 25th, 2011

Madewell Dress, Cuff made by my mom, Chanel Heels

I tend to be pretty stubborn when it comes to trying new things – especially when those things include driving downtown. I’d heard nothing but rave reviews about Bottega Louie, but I was discouraged by the idea of maneuvering around one-way streets and finding a decent parking spot. That all changed this past weekend, when we got dressed up for Sunday brunch and made the fifteen minute trek downtown. It’s good to change up your routine every now and again – especially if the reward for stepping outside of your comfort zone includes a spicy bloody mary and killer egg sandwich.

Isn’t DTLA fun? It’s only 3 blocks away and I adore the earl gray macarons. It’s really loud at night. I prefer brunch! The pizza is pretty delish though! Wait, everything there is yummy especially the treats!

I’m so glad that you tried something new AND loved it! I just wrote a post of bottega louie on the 25th and it sounds like we partook in the same amazing-ness…bloody marys and egg sandwichs. Of course there were macarons and cappuccinos in my dining as well. :)

p.s. Speaking of maneuvering one way streets…we started to turn down one and had to quickly turn, illegally of course, back out it. Fearful experience!

Love Bottega Louie! Now I wish I was back in LA… Agree about the one-way streets downtown. I once drove in circles for 20 minutes, lost, trying to park near Flower.

LOVE Bottega Louie! Had the opportunity to have brunch there earlier this year when I visited LA and loved it–the space is so airy and inviting and the food was great! I think it’s worth the trek!

Ugh, I hate going down-town for dessert reviews! Indeed, I avoid it. If you ever need a partner in crime, let me know! Bottega Louie has been on my To Do list for a while~
