Disney Dreams
June 17th, 2009
It’s not that I’ve been oblivious to the rave reviews pouring in for the movie Up, but I’m slightly biased when it comes to Pixar. You see, I was raised on classics like Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and Snow White, so I’m reluctant to embrace any cartoon that doesn’t revolve around princesses and happily ever afters. This is why, when I saw Dina Goldstein’s “Fallen Princesses” project, I was profoundly moved (and a little scarred). Perhaps I’ll buy tickets for Pixar’s 3-D showing tonight…
P.S. I only wish Ariel had been included. Perhaps she could have been swimming around in oil-drenched water?

hi there!
I was wondering if you could possibly do a post on dresses for a wedding reception… or just any nice summer occasion? I’d really like some input from you because you have such great style. Thanks so much!
UP WAS FANTASTIC. you haaaave to see it!
What a neat idea! The overweight Red Riding Hood really drove it home.
These are amazing – I, like you, was also raised on the classic Disney movies, so I get it… This photographer takes the most amazing fairy tale princess photos: http://sendingpostcards.wordpress.com/2009/05/31/1541/
I was on her website when I first heard about this, and I remember reading that she has two more images to create. I’m pretty sure Ariel will be included
A little depressing, but so artistic and creative — also, the shots are amazing.
Oh my gosh, I LOVE this post!
These are incredible! Do you sell prints somewhere?
this is so beautiful and disturbing.
i love it!
UP was great. i saw it twice! it is definitely a different kind of movie than the early princess-y kinds, but it is amazing on so many different levels. i recommend!
wow hadn’t heard of this but will definitely check it out.
they should add ariel, 4 sure :/
i love those pictures!!!!

These are really interesting, thanks for sharing! Have you seen Rosie Hardy’s work? anyway, she did a series called Fairy tales – behind the scenes. They were really clever, you might want to take a look. I’m pretty sure you won’t have a problem finding her work, she’s pretty popular in the intenet
I HIGHLY recommend “Up”. I just saw it a week ago and it was so amazing. Not only is the technology behind the movie incredible, but the story line is just…fantastic. I cried and cried in the beginning. It’s a very touching film.
Hilarious pictures by the way!
What a rad concept!
OMG you have to check this out-a sneak peek at tim burtons Alice in wonderland!!!! http://cutenboot.blogspot.com/2009/06/go-ask-alice.html

Rosie Hardy is not a photographer. It is not her who takes her pictures.
She is a copycat and a liarwho sells other people’s photos claiming that her work is original.

Ariel was actually included in the original article: http://www.jpgmag.com/stories/11918
there are a few more that are not here.

Actually, I’ve seen these photographs before. And Ariel is one of them. Ariel is in a fish tank…like an aquarium. and there is a little boy looking at her.
The photo holding the babies is classic had to save that one, I love this edgy kind of photography
