I have a long-standing relationship with the team at Estée Lauder and was thrilled when they offered to help me throw a winter garden party in collaboration with their line, AERIN Beauty. The new fragrance, Rose de Grasse, launched yesterday and we celebrated with a flower-filled evening with friends.

I've always loved perfumes and was influenced by watching my mom carefully build and curate her own fragrance collection. In fact, my affinity for scent is so strong that when I went away to college, I regularly picked up samples of her perfumes since they reminded me of her. I almost exclusively wear floral fragrances and this new perfume blends scents from three different roses – with hints of wood and musk – that manage to smell clean and modern instead of old-fashioned and powdery. It's a stunning scent and served as inspiration for the entire evening.

It was such a fun party, with build-your-own flower crowns, a rustic farm-to-table dinner and decadent desserts; a nice reminder of the memories that scents create, not to mention, a wonderful way to unwind with friends after the holidays.
