Michael Jackson had an undeniable influence on dance and pop music. In fact, one of his songs with the Jackson 5, “I Want You Back,” is on my iPod playlist for when I need to let loose with a solo dance party. Here are my other go-to favorite songs that are sure to put me in a happy mood:

Mmm, good songs! I have an entire playlist (called, appropriately, ‘Happy’) dedicated to this. Only one song really comes to mind off the top of my head, though – ‘Grace Kelly’ by Mika. Just makes me want to dance and skip!

my heart is aching over this news. I was never what you would call one of the crazy Michael Jackson fans but he’s always held a special place in my heart. I wore out my father’s Thriller record as a child – my boyfriend and I turned up the record player full tilt last night – and jammed out to the Thriller Album, it still skips at the end of the song Thriller as it did when I was a kid. I just can’t believe it. Between Jackson and Madonna they had the pop world on lock down – no one could deny that.
