Dancing Dreams
As a little girl, I rarely wore anything besides my tutu and fireman’s hat (together, I might add). I still have a fascination for anything that resembles ballerina attire, which brought about my love for these Capezio studded ballet slippers. It’s such a great twist on a sweetly classic look so I threw together a few more pieces that instill that I’m-a-ballerina-off-duty vibe.
1. Studded Ballet Slippers, $48
2. Strata Dress, $199.99
3. Mesh Dot Tiered Skirt, $14.80
4. Cecile Bralette, $58
5. Cecile Boyshorts, $48
6. Seam Detail Cup Corset, $65
7. Bow Belt, $49.99
8. Faux-Leather Trim Canvas Tote, $15
9. Narrow Brim Panama Hat, £22.00
10. Mamba Flats, $98
11. Jennifer Ouellette Headband, $70
12. Benjamin Sunglasses, $325
13. Multi Chains w/ Ribbon Necklace, $8.80

I saw those slippers and loved them too!
I was so stoked to find that J.Crew necklace ripped off by Forever. $9 is so much better than $125.
Strata dress looks like a gem!

Loving the necklace, shoes and belt with the bow!
Gorgeous finds.

aww sweet!
Simply beautiful!
12, 9 & 8 take me to the beach.
My fascination with ballet was short-lived, but I simply ADORE the studded slippers! The ultimate in femmey/tough juxtaposition.
I love the feminine pieces!
Oh Emily, this is probably one of my favourite posts, ever! I was a ballerina for the longest time, and all those pieces are so gorgeous and feminine.
so pretty and girly!
Tihi, as a little girl I only wore my princess dress… but with a cowboy hat!
So, this might just be me, but this whole collection just beams YOU
those mamba flats are AMAZING.
half the reason i took dance in college was so i could wear leotards and tights and wrap sweaters ALL THE TIME!
the lingerie is gorgeous!! xo
I love and want all of this! I’m a ballet class drop out, I was always much more interested in the costumes, more than anything else. I had an aunt that was in the Boston Ballet though, I remember going to watch her as the Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker!
ohhh! I love both the flats but especially the Mamba ones. I LOVE this look, sadly, it’s not one that suits me very well… Maybe I can just take the cute flats and the necklace and skip the tutu skirts
so adorable! I love the flirty and flit of all your picks. Very feminine and pretty
I have those studded capezio ballet flats! i love, love, love them and have seriously considered getting them in black too. they seem a bit delicate, so i wear them disceringly.
Lovely post- the bra and boyshort set is divine.
I love the pink dress #2! I love everything ballerina!!!
Ruffles & ribbons — love love love!
Ballerina firewoman. Haha. Genius. Love the pieces you picked.

capezio! I love it. I love all of these pieces!
Can’t help but think of Carrie’s tutu {SATC} =)
If only I had a dancer’s body to pull these off! At least I can wear ballet flats.
That dress would be so much fun to wear!
I love these pieces! It makes me wish my little girl dancing days.
Remember how delicious brand new ballet shoes smelled?!?
4 & 5 are gorgeous! I’d love to have those in my drawer.
I took ballet forever! The dress and the corset are so lovely. I might need them to help relive my dancing days!
OMG – I will take 1, 2 and 3 thanks – divine finds!!
love this post, emily! i was pretty AWFUL at anything dance…i actually got kicked out of my class in 3rd grade…but i adore tulle, slippers, and bows!

Oh, I love that necklace. I can’t believe it’s from Forever 21.
You need to find yourself a good old cruiser bike to ride around. You would love it.
Enamored with that dress!
really love the studded ballet slippers. and i always love how your blog is a perfect, interesting mix of topics.
aww I was a ballerina, etc. for 8 years and I miss it so. I just bought a lovely skirt like that! Love that style.
Love this post, I was obsessed with ballet when I was a kid.
I also made that necklace by buying a cheap set from forever 21 and tying a black ribbon on it.
I have had a dancing/ballerina inspired post in my head for awhile now but I have to say I’m so glad you did it because you did it better than I. Excuse the benadryl if my sentences get a lil wacky
I just wanted to tell you that I adore your blog and as a fellow LA girl, you seem so real-which is hard to find here. So thank you.
beautiful collage! i like the softer colors.
i’m wearing a very similar necklace to #13 (multi-chain w/ ribbon) today!!! love it…though mine wasn’t nearly $8!!!

I really like the combination of #3 and #10 together.
I probably have two or three skirts that are very similar to #3. They are really cute!
Thank you for the cute blog.

Love the nude palette – very beautiful. And just today my daughter was wearing a tutu and a builders hat – stunning combination on a four year old! Loving your blog BTW… it’s going on my soon to be written Eye Candy post xo xo
have the same ballerina attire fascination — love this collection you’ve assembled, especially the lovely watery blue lace underthings
xo
I bought the dress because of your post. Too bad you can’t get a commission. I really hope it fits and the color works on my fair skin.
Thanks for the post.
So lovely!
payless shoe store always has little kid ballet shoes and luckily my feet are small enough that I can wear a 12 or 14 shoe in girl’s sizes, and for 15 bucks you kinda can’t walk away from them :] I love owning “authentic” ballet slippers because they’re so whimsical and make me feel super girly! the studded ones I would loooove though
