Crave or Save
Yesterday I ventured out for my first holiday shopping excursion and was delighted by the abundance of all things sparkly, sequined and shimmering. All of the unabashedly feminine dresses begged for tough elements, so began my search for a pair of deconstructed buckled boots. I first stumbled across Fiorentini + Baker‘s option at Barney’s and couldn’t deny their supple leather, tri buckles and steep price. Luckily, Steve Madden has an indisputably similar option that will leave you with extra money to splurge on pieces (like this and this) to balance them out perfectly.
EDIT: I managed to find an even cheaper version of the Steve Maddens here for $112!

Definitely go with the Maddens. I’m curious to see how you will wear these. They sort of scare me.

ooooh, great compare and contrast. I’ve tried on the Steve Maddens on numerous occasions because I want to want them enough to buy them, but they’re just not quite right for me. Too heavy or chunky or something. The camel ones looked great on the girl trying them on next to me!! : ) Thanks Em
F&B would fit my calves better. though steve madden is sooo afforadable.

SM is so close… they have endless posibilities in the outfit department. Loving them.
Save money on the SM… buy other mst-haves.

So long as you can cinch those buckles in, go for the Maddens. They look comparatively clonky in the photo, but I’m sure they can be adjusted …
I say SAVE! This is definitely a classic style, but I dig the shape of the Steve Madden one better.

Ugh don’t even talk to me about this. I bought the Fiorenti boots last season (when they were a bit more obscure) I rarely make big purchases and this is exactly why!
a lovely alternative, but I am sick…I want the first pair badly…sigh…
Both pairs are great, although I’d go for the madden’s to be able to afford some other finds.

i have the steve maddens already! LOVE them get complements all the time
Get the Fiorentini’s! I’ve seen the SM’s…totally not the same. The F+B’s will only look better with time and wear. I’ve tried them on, and they’re pretty amazing. The cut of the boot is so much cooler too. To me, the Maddens just look like any other boot with added buckles.
with this, I’m a splurge – this is a classic boot and the f&b fit looks so much better.

I usually would go to the save-side, but there’s too big of difference in quality, craftsmanship and fit just visible in the photos. F+B are timeless, definitely CRAVE!
