Crave or Save

August 1st, 2008

For some inexplicable reason, flat boots are incredibly hard to come by. Despite the fact that each year they’re a quintessential item for Fall, equestrian-inspired boots are far and few between.  I first spotted these Valentino Tall Flat Boots several months back and immediately fell in love.  Since the price is pretty hefty, I promised myself that I would adequately research comparable options before shelling out nearly a month’s rent.  Luckily, all of my hours spent scouring the internet literally paid off when I came across Aldo’s Panguma.  With a similar rounded toe and minimal heel, these are a great take on a classic boot.  Paired with textured tights or skinny jeans tucked inside, I can already tell they’ll be the focal point of many an outfit come Fall.

I love how the valentino boots curve in at the top…it looks more tailored and equestrian. The aldo boots are good too though, but it is frustrating how you do really get what you want with extremely expensive fashion…of course, I think the aldo boots are wonderful too…much more in my price range.

must say the original is almost always better.. mind you bags are usually okay but shoes are different. the front end – round part is just not quite the same….I think. guess it’s down to personal preferences. At this point i’m not prepared to pay for Valentino. :) It seems I’m not the only one in that camp. thanks for the interesting post. I do have a brown one and I was looking for a black pair. Hoping to score one during the end of season sale.. which is about now! wish me luck ♥

I kinda like the Valentino ones, but the Aldo ones not at all actually. But yeah, the price is ‘slightly’ high.

I’d get the Aldo ones before they sell out-they are a great alternative!!

You’re absolutely right. Those scrunchable suede flat kind always show up everywhere, but nice, structured, leather flat boots are few and far between. I have a pair I bought about 7 years go that I’ve replaced the soles on three times!

I know what you mean. All the ones I had found were just ridiculously expensive but they seem like such a good item to have especially for school having to walk around campus (theres only so long I can walk around in heels :P ) Thanks for searching for a reasonably priced pair. They look great

I like the Aldo ones better!

Oddly enough I find the Aldo ones more appealing. It has to be the pointy toe.

I would have to go with the Aldo ones. However I do like the grey color on the Valetinos.
