Crave or Save
Last fall I practically wore down the entire five-inch heel of my Steve Madden booties (seen here, here and here) since I rarely took them off. They’re made of suede, completely versatile and they’re certainly my go-to boot for colder weather. This year I’m looking for even more texture and Givenchy’s calf hair ankle boots pretty much top my list. While I love the sleek design and the delicate ankle strap, Senso’s Wilma is equally chic and the extra wide opening will be sure to make legs look long and lean.

This is a difficult one
If I needed to choose, the price would be a deciding factor in this particular case. Even though I love the texture of fur on the Givenchy shoe and the funky leather ankle strap detail, in this case I would go for the Wilma. Wilma shoes give me the a vibe of chaose or wildness, which I love and also the heel is very nice and I think they should be comfy.
I am an avid follower of this blog and feel constantly inspired when I come here (however this is my first comment). I wanted to say that I am really not into the calf hair. I wouldn’t wear a fur coat and I wouldn’t wear fur shoes. Your Steve Madden booties are infinitely cuter!
I too fell for the givenchy absolutely incredible, I know heel wise for an everyday the wills pair would just provide that extra wearability!! Both are gorgeous and I must check out wills- never come across the name before! Thanks – call by sometime lovely! Katie. Xxx

Givenchy just looks like the designer shoe, very couture. The Wilma is more “rough” and that heel looks un-walkable. But the difference in price, OUCH! I’d keep looking.
I don’t think I can walk around with *calf hair* covered shoes. I find it horribly tacky.
So that’s a toughie because of the humongous difference in price. I like that Givenchy’s style has a hidden platform… always a huge fan of that! But for all intents and purposes, the Wilma one is a great match and you seriously can’t beat it for the price! Good find

This is a tough one. I know the fur is in style but I don’t absolutely love the trend. But having said that, the Givenchy shoes definitely look more expensive and better quality. I don’t know…let us know if you end up picking one of these. : )

This is tough, because the Givenchy boots really look so much better in design and quality. Honestly the Wilma ones look really cheap for $160 (which still isn’t cheap!) I would keep looking for another option.
I thought these were both very cute, that is until I saw they are made from calf fur! Yuck and also disturbing! I’d rather wear a cheap knock off then kill an animal for fashion. Poor choice is all I can say.

I’d have to go with the Crave! The Givenchy’s fur looks sleeker and nicer and the delicate ankle strap adds a unique quality to the shoe. The Wilma’s fur looks rougher and almost fake. Dooo it and post lots of pictures here! :]

I love a chunky heel, so I vote Wilma.
If it were me, I’d dream of the Givenchy but go for the ‘save’ option, if only for the fact that I’d never end up wearing the Givenchy’s in winter for fear they’d get damaged by salt or wet, or something. They are too beautiful!
The wilma ones look really really hot, and for that price, they’re definitely a steal. Too bad I can not wear heels.

The Givenchy pair is more my style, but totally not in my price range! I love that pair so much more than the other, though.
The Givenchy’s are sweet! I’m sure you can find a SAVE though that looks nicer than the cheaper ones. The hair on the Wilma’s don’t look so nice.

I love that the Givenchy booties are seamless between the shoe and the platform, but if the others look great in person there is no need to splurge. I always think of things in terms of “what else I could buy with it”. And quite frankly you could buy yourself a lot of other goodies with the money you save if you buy the Wilma version instead.

Booties, sigh, I just adore! However that’s a nice chuck of change.. I’m not sure of the quality of the Wilma brand as it’s unfamiliar… but if they’re a high quality and aren’t going to fall apart or sign you up for a bunion surgery down the line, then save the $!

I wasn’t exactly a fan of either shoe. Not only doe the fur on both of them look a little tacky, I find it a little sick and disturbing to kill a calf (or any animal really) so you can wear a cute little “bootie.” There are plenty of fashionable boots out there that didn’t require a living thing to die!
If I had to choose, the Givenchy pair are much nicer. The difference in quality is obvious. Overall though, I’d be worried that these would look like you have hooves. I like calf hair, but in combination with the platform shape, these look a bit too equine for me.

Though I do love the Givenchy’s…I would have to say neither. When there are so many equally as adorable faux furs out there…I couldn’t live with myself knowing a baby cow died for my shoes.

Personally, neither shoe is calling to me. The shape isn’t that pretty and calf hair is difficult to take care of. I also hate fur on clothing/shoes/etc in general. I mean, how would you feel if we skinned you alive and put you on someone’s coat?
I would say they look nice, i like the shoe itself but im pretty uncomfortable with buying fur. The idea that they skinned an animal for me to wear on my feet is a little off putting to me. I really liked your steve madden ones though, maybe you should get another pair similar to those.
I think that ankle strap is begging to create cankles where none exist. Wouldn’t risk it. Also kind of ambivalent about the calf hair. I saw a gorgeous pair this weekend with a similar shape but in grey suede and they were amazing.
Both booties are amazing! If I could afford the Givenchys I would go for them! What a beautiful pair of gooddies!

Ummm…fug, both of them. They would make one’s foot look like a little cloven hoof, like the devil. Plus, messy when wet. I’m not a fan of wearing fur, and although these may be a by-product of the meat industry, like any other leather or animal-skin item, it’s just a look I’m not into, and I find it suggestive of cruelty. And did I mention, they’re fugly? Sorry.
i truly do love the look of these , however , with the current bootie obsessed haze i have been living in for the past couple of years , i’m bound to love them . i also do love how thick and bristly the hairs are . although i do not agree with the usage of calf hair in clothing , i most certainly do love the style of these boots ! the ankle strap in the givenchy style does surely take it up a notch , i would go for those if you’ve got the cash !

love the wilma booties much more than the givenchy ones, i prefer the chunky looking heel and the wide ankle will be alot more flattering than the ankle strap on the givenchy boots. senso has a great rep for quality so it would be a great save.
BTW calf hair is the same as leather and suede.i suppose those who are disturbed by those shoes are wearing pleather shoes, sitting on a pleather couch, with their feet on a pleather poof, eating beans.
Wow I’m loving the fur ankle boots, super fierce! I don’t think it matters which you buy because there both lush! But with such a large price difference I would go with the Wilma pair. I’m loving the chunky heal, definite head tuners. Then anyway with the money you save you can buy a hard leather jacket to complete to look. x

Considering the price difference i definately prefer the Wilma booty! if you didnt put the label at the bottom i think this debate would go very differently! The Wilma booty is more street- edgy- fun – i love the chunkyness and slightly unpolished feel..i want them!
