Crave or Save
It goes without saying that nearly every item that Alexander Wang creates will be undeniably sleek and this motorcycle jacket is no exception. The asymmetrical zippers, buttery leather and carefully placed studs are flawless, but to my wallet’s dismay, also quite expensive. Express really stepped it up with this faux vest with its bold collar, nipped in waist and gold detailing. Regardless of whether you’re willing to take the plunge for Wang or save with Express, wouldn’t this look incredible with a cream-colored lace dress and flat boots?

I like the Wang vest a little better, but I would have to see them both on a model to make my final judgement… a big YES to a cream or ivory lace dress to go with the vest, though!
I like the Express one, but I would like it even better if it was made out of real leather. For this Wang wins. What’s the sense of spending $80 on something that won’t last a lifetime?

I always want to say “save!” But here, I actually like the cut and detailing on the Wang piece better. Love your idea of what to wear with it!

The leather on the A.Wang jacket looks so much smoother, and I prefer the cut. It is crazy expensive, but it’s the kind of piece you could keep for years and years.

Make your own! Buy a small vintage leather motorcycle jacket and have the sleeves cut off at a tailor or shoe repair. Vintage, recycled and one of a kind for a great price!
I have to say that I like the Express one better. For once I like something that is cheap.

save, for sure! it’s a little more tough, and has just as much personality as the Wang jacket. I bet once you wear it in enough, it’ll get soft and smoohsy too.

I can’t justify spending that much on faux leather even though it LOOKS good–unless you are a vegan of course. I wouldn’t pay that much for the Alexander Wang one either…I’d keep trying to find a more affordable real leather one.

i would definitely pass on the alexander wang…there are soo many other pieces for that would be much more worth the money and that you would get more use out of. an amazing leather jacket maybe…vest..no. it would look cute with a cream dress and flat boots though…

I’m all for the Express version. A cost effective way to try a trend.
I know the Alex Wang vest is $1200 and trust me that’s WAY out of my price range too. But the express one just can’t keep up with the Wang vest’s fit, fur, and buttery leather. Too bad…maybe someone else will have a better cheaper version of it.
Oh and the idea of wearing it with a sweet lace dress is genius. I love pairing girly dresses with a hard leather jacket.
the structure of the wang piece is a bit too temporary. if i were going to purchase leather, i’d rather go for a jacket.

I think it’s a save situation. The leather vest isn’t timeless enough (in my opinion!) to justify four digit spending.

You can save even more with F21′s version of the Wang piece. I think I saw it at the Americana F21 for only 27.80. Quite a steal if you ask me!
I loved the sleeves of the Alexander Wang vest, but the Express version is quite nice too… the price, even better.

I like the shoulder rolls on the A.Wang vest, but I’m all about cheap thrills! (I would go for the cheap leather vest, though, because I know I wouldn’t get much wear out of it.)

I actually like the inexpensive Express version – I love when that happens. Usually it is the other way around!
Im all for save with this one but it’s only because Im not into the leather vest, if it would be a jacket, I would most likely go for the more expensive one since leather jacket can take you really far ; ) and during that journey to far, quality will be questioned many times. So if you are going to use the vest just as much as you would use a jacket then and only then go with the Wang.

ok, I have a dilemma here. Normally I would say Crave bc after all, this is an investment piece. it’s a leather jacket (ok, vest, but whatever..) you will have this FOREVER. Having said that, the express one look pretty great. I actually have been buying their jeans recently…I got a pair of their skinnies and they look fab and they were $25! I bought two pairs just to be safe and a “short” pair to tuck into my OTK boots! with the money you save from getting the “save” option you can pick yourself up another coach bag…or any bag you want! but that coach bag you posted today is FAB. gorgeous.
