Crave or Save
During warmer months, all of my pumps/ballet flats/boots are shoved to the back of my closet to make room for my collection of sky-high wedges. Not only do they add a few necessary inches, but they’re remarkably comfortable. I’ve probably tried on Cynthia Vincent’s Luella wedges a half dozen times, but simply cannot spend the $400 amount that has not budged since I first spotted them (believe me, I check that often). That’s why, when I saw Aldo’s Brozek, I was ecstatic. I’ve yet to see them in person, but I’m fairly convinced that they’re just the perfect alternative for which I’ve been waiting.
EDIT: Thanks to Kristy for alerting me that the Cynthia Vincent wedges are now $218 on BlueFly so if you wear a size 9 or 9.5 and love the shoes, you’re in luck!

I’m not sure what size you are (or what color of leather you want,) but those Luella wedges are like $200-something on Bluefly! I’m sure you can buy them with an online coupon or something. I think the details are just so much sleeker on the Cynthia Vincent wedges

Definitely not save. But if you really like them, spend. I’m personally not a fan but I can see them working really well with your style…

I’ve had my eye on those Cynthia Vincent wedges too the zipper makes me even crazier for them! and that link that kristy posted makes it even more tempting to go for them at like $200 off. BUT $200 is still $200 and I like the Aldo ones a lot too so in the spirit of Earth Day SAVE SAVE SAVE! tehe.
Ditto to “Talk Pretty…,” This is absolutely one of those save opportunities. I just don’t think the Cynthia’s are all that much more special.
Either way, these will be fabulous shoes – I can already see them going with 1/ 2of my summer wardrobe! Great find : – )
I love the zipper detail on the Cynthia Vincent pair, but I would save!!
Definitely save….my friend just bought a gorgeous pair of similar, but not the same sandals by Michael Kors.

Definitely go for the Aldos – they’re a fantastic alternative.
Aldos! Altho I hate Aldo, their shoes don’t hold up for more than a few months.

Tough decision – I love both!
I say save. The aldo wedges look just as nice… splurge on a handbag that will be more obvious. no one will ever know the designer of these wedges unless you tell them…….
They are both hot shoes but I would go for save on this one…then you won’t feel as quilty and when another pair of hot shoes comes along you can buy those too ; )

I love the Cynthia Vincent ones! I’m not crazy about Aldo, I agree the quality doesn’t make for a lasting shoe… which goes against Earth Day principles
Love them both but if you buy the Aldos you will extra money to buy another pair…
I’ve been debating this crave or save for awhile now, too!! Have yet to try on the ALDO ones in person (is it just me or are the salespeople really annoying?), but i saw the CV ones on Vanessa Hudgens the other day and still loooove them!
the aldo ones are great!! definitely save! unless you’re a 9 or 9.5 and can get them on bluefly!
I think the CV’s are definitely the superior shoe, that zipper is fab. But only if you can find them on sale!

Love both the sandals – been looking for ones just like them too for awhile – thanks for letting me know that good ol’ Aldo has them! They look easier to walk in as well (dont know about the pitch of the CV) – I would LOVE for the Cynthia Vincent lower-heeled version of that shoe (forget the name) to go on sale!!
I also love the Aldo one’s more than the CV’s…although they are amazing as well. I am already thinking of so many outfits…you’re going to look amazing! xo
LOVE!!! Speaking of lust versus must…I bought a pair of white jeans at the Gap yesterday and they fit better than my Sevens ever did and they are a quarter of the price. so…there you go.
The Aldo ones are really quite nice, despite not being a splurge!
The bluefly sale’s actually once when having big feet is a plus!

i think i’m the oddball when i say i do not like the zipper on the CV ones! i think aldo’s look cleaner/simpler.

Definitely try on the Aldos! They are hit or miss, but when they work out it’s a great deal.
used to intern for Cynthia and most of my closet consists of her shoes, so I have to say if she does one thing very well…it’s shoes. If you love this shoe, make the investment. it’s totally worth it. plus that shoe is so hot with the exposed zipper. great compare and contrast on price, great find!

I love the Cynthia Vincents, but those Aldo’s are really cute….I may have to place an order they are the perfect summer shoe!
I love the Cynthia Vincent sandals wayy more, especially the zipper! But the Aldo ones are a cute alternative. Unfortunately, Aldo shoes seem to always start falling apart a few months after I buy them.
p.s. I’m pretty sure I saw a pair VERY similar from Steve Madden somewhere. From my personal experience, Steve Madden shoes are higher quality than Aldo.
i really like the zipper on the cynthia vincent shoe (it really adds that extra something) but i would never pay the price…so i’m all about the second pair.

the aldos are adorable, but there is something about those cynthia vincents i can’t resist!
I absolutely love finding more affordable look-a-like pieces. Not always quite as fun as the real thing, but it can definitely hold me through until the item you’re craving goes on sale somewhere!

found out about Aldo only recently through a ried – their prices are amazing specially for trendy shoes that I normally would not want to spend a lot on.
ahh…it’s hard when you see them side by side coz the cynthia vincent looks a lot sexier and more refined…while the aldos come off looking clumsier. but if i never saw the cynthia vincents, i would probably love the aldos..:)

Ooh! The Aldo is a pretty good replica but I hate to say there’s nothing like the real thing. The Cynthia Vincents seem smoother; I don’t really care for the Aldo cork platform. I’m gonna go with CRAVE
I prefer Aldo’s, the cork makes them very pretty and the shape of the wedge is better imo

I had the same experience! I have been eyeing the Luella wedges but couldnt force myself to pay $400, so as soon as I saw the Brozek online I immediately bought them. I first purchase my true size of 8 and when I got them they were way too tight so I went to the store and exchanged them for a 9 as they do not have half sizes. So if you decide to get the Brozek’s I suggest a size up
They are so cute on and add great height! Altough, I still hope to replace them with the Luella’s soon haha. Love your blogs btw…My girlfriends and I hope to get TreVite up and running again after we graduate SJSU next month, check out what we have so far though

I know that this is a very old post, but as I was reading about MK and Ashley’s met. gala dresses this morning, I stumbled upon their olsenboye website – and found shoes that look a lot like the Cynthia Vincent ones: http://olsenboye.com/. Check out the shoes for the spring collection. I’d imagine they’re affordable since it’s JC Penney.
