By glimpsing inside my closet, it’s clear that I have a very specific sense of style. Every once in a while though, I think it’s important to add elements to my wardrobe that are slightly unexpected. When I first visited Rebecca Minkoff’s online sample sale, I knew that the black or brown Clutch bag would have been the most practical choice. Instead, I opted for the neon yellow patent leather. Sure it doesn’t match with every outfit, but it certainly makes a cheerful statement that’s perfect for summer.

I really appreciate how you mix high and low end pieces together for a unique look. It’s hard these days to find someone with a distinctive style of their own… most people just copy what they see in magazines or TV. I also love how your outfits are complete looks including hair, jewelry, etc… your look changes often, but it’s always you. I’m a bit fashion impaired, so thanks for the inspiration!

It’s a gorgeous bag! I really like the black one as well, but like you said it’s a good thing to surprise yourself sometimes. I also got shoes in the exact same color as your bag at zara, instead of the black ones that would have been easier to wear.
(I got those now that they are on sale too though, hahah!)

It’s good to have some go-to practical accessories, but bags and jewelry are where you can really go a little crazy with your outfit, but not have it look too crazy. A brightly colored bag is must — even with just jeans and tee, you’ll be a bit more noticeable.

i am so glad you bought the neon yellow purse! I went out on a limb the other day and bought this gorgeous bright turqouise clutch. best. purchase. ever. absolutely love it. its nice to step out of our comfort zone sometimes. i think we can surprise ourselves by the results.

I was just talking to my boyfriend’s mom about yellow bags yesterday! She bought one on her recent Vegas trip and was worried that it was too bright and tacky. It was absolutely lovely, and I think I convinced her of that! Yours is just a wonderful!

I love your clutch! I got my own neon yellow clutch this spring, cheap at Century 21. The label is Mundi Westport, and even though it doesn’t look like it in the photo, it really is neon yellow.
