Clover Cookies
My boyfriend jokes that every holiday is “my favorite” since I get overly giddy about each approaching one. I can say with certainty though, that Saint Patrick’s Day has never really done it for me. Sure, I try to wear green to avoid getting pinched, but the thrill of tinted beer and rowdy bars holds little appeal. That was, until I discovered how fun it was to make holiday-themed treats. The best part about these sugar cookies? The more you eat, the luckier you are. Pinky swear.
P.S. Do not try to buy pre-made sugar cookie dough to save time. I would show you photographic evidence, but it’s far too grotesque to share. Just trust me.
P.P.S. Royal icing is a toughie. The results (after three tries) were perfect; especially when topped with homemade sanding sugar (I combined granulated sugar with food coloring).

Wow Emily! You’re really becoming a baking artist!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! xxx
They’re very cute
Oh! This is so sweet, love it!:) You are so creative!
Those look great! I can’t say St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays either, but I’ll celebrate anything involving cookies
Oh I love your nail polish color! what is that?

awww! those look super yummy! I love how you make everything from scratch!
Happy St Patrick’s day! The cookies looked too pretty to be eaten. Only if there is a stencil for four-leaf clovers. Real four-leaf clovers are hard to come by.
They look so great!
I like your approach to holidays, Emily: if I saw each one as an opportunity to make delicious treats, I think I could get into them all, too!
x
it’s so cute =) love it
xx
So cute!! Love the deserts that you make
Oh wow, my Irish half is now feeling a little sheepish that I’m not celebrating. Might have to have a Guiness and ice some readymade biscuits!
Those look good and I LOVE your nail polish. What color is that?
Happy St. paddy’s day! Never really liked green, so don’t have any green clothes to wear today, even if I’m Irish, but this is a great idea to still celebrate! gonna have to try them sometime
They look perfect! Nicely done!
Umm… those look professional! I think I may be having cookies for breakfast now…

Oh hooray, someone else out there that doesn’t jump on the St. Paddy’s day bandwagon. I always feel like a bit of a dork, since I never go out and celebrate this one… but I think those cookies are the only celebratin’ I need, mmhm. COOKIES!
Those cookies are beautiful!!

I love these! Always been shy of the royal icing but need to try soon!
So funny – my bf says the same thing; any holiday is an excuse for a theme party or at least theme treats!
Beyond impressed. I would have eaten all the raw dough before it made it into clover form.
WOW THOSE LOOK INCREDIBLE!! You have to have such a steady hand to make them look that good!! BRAVA!

yummy ! they look perfect!
what nail polish are u wearing?? i love it!
Munchkin! But St. Patrick’s Day IS one of my absolute favorite holidays! Maybe this is one of those instances in which opposites attract? Cause I’ve never liked Halloween, and yet I heart you so:) I think loving St. Patrick’s Day is a prerequisite for growing up in the suburbs of New York. The parade is a huge deal, especially since 75% of my town was Irish!
So yummy! I can almost taste them
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I agree about St. Patty’s day, but these could sell me.
I love the theory about luck in relation to how many cookies you eat! I’m completely on board with that one. These cookies look so professional and delicious! Your blog is so descriptive and artistic, I love it!

MMMMMMMMMM Did Luna have a cookie?
I’m with you – St. Patty’s Day is not my cup of tea. But looking at your yummy cookies could make me okay with it
I use the same recipe! It is, by far, the best sugar cookie recipe I’ve found.
I also made my own St. Patrick’s Day cookies. I used homemade frosting tinted green. Everyone loved them.
Yummy! Happy St. Patricks Day!
So cute!

Happy Saint Patty’s Day! I’d have to admit I don’t normally put to much thought into it, but legally drinking a greed beer this year sounds like fun.

Those cookies look amazing and so yummy! I’d eat 3 or 4 in one sitting!
Is your nail color Lilacism by Essie? That’s what it reminds me of. Super pretty shade!
Yum!
You know I’ve always fought with icing bags and now you’ve just inspired me to throw them out and go buy some tubes! Great idea and great cookies!
You are an amazing baker!
they look so good!
I am new to your blog and so far I absolutely love it and I think you need to do more video blogs. I was just wondering what camera you used to take the majority of your photos? Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
Lauren
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Why is it, that anything you make, looks perfect? And I’m saying it in a good way.
I must admit I do love the holiday. It is the Irish in me. I wear green. I drink the green beer. I am always in search of a good shamrock shake, soda bread, cabbage and potatos! yummm!!
everyone is irish today!
My initial reaction when I saw the first picture was: There’s no way SHE made those. Then I scrolled down and saw the evidence. Well done.
Loove your nail polish! What is it called?
I love this post! btw… cute nails!
love the cookies. happy st. patty’s day.
your blog is amazing. i can’t help but get excited each time you post
I not really a St. Patricks day person either, but so cute!
I have the same nail polish on right now! Such a nice colour that goes with almost everything. Mines by Butter.

Those are actually beautiful!
Never understood why the states go so overly crazy for St Patricks. I realise of course there are plenty of Irish over there… just not as many as there actually are over here on the emerald isles…
That being said, I celebrate being Irish (and English) and these cookies look utterly divine!
that look DELICIOUS! YOU’RE MAKING ME HUNGRY. AND THE ARE SO CUTE!!!!!!!!
