Classic Chocolate Cake

I’ve made cupcakes dozens of times, but up until this past weekend, I had never baked a cake. It was one of those things that felt like such a process; it required pans I didn’t own, a lot of prep work and far too much time dedicated to watching it cool. This past Saturday though, was quiet and stormy; ideal for experimenting in the kitchen. I followed this recipe and couldn’t have been happier with the results. It was everything you hope for in a cake; it was moist and dense with an intense chocolate flavor, but without being cloying. In other words, a new classic.

You have the same reasoning as me for not baking a cake. It’s actually something I added to my bucket list and I’m hoping to tackle it this year. This recipe seems like a good place to start
