Clam Chowder
October 21st, 2010
I don’t find myself craving specific foods most of the year (with the exception of these and this), but there’s a certain pull towards comforting classics in the fall. This dreary weather begs for hot meals, prepared slowly by the heat of a stove. I grew up eating clam chowder out of sourdough bread bowls in San Francisco and the hearty soup has remained one of my favorite dishes. I made this East Hampton version last night and it was creamy, indulgent and wonderfully filling.

That looks delicious! Now I am craving a big bowl with a hunk of sourdough bread.
your food always looks so delicious! I love hearty soups
Yummm!! I loove clam chowder. I went to SF recently on vaca and tried both the creamy version at the wharf and the brothy version at Hog Island. Looove both. Is it hard to make?
I don’t even like clam chowder but I have to say… this looks delicious! maybe I’ll give it a shot. (to be honest, I’ve never tried it but the smell always put me off).

looks great and I can agree with others on this- not my type of food but it still looks good.

The very first time I had clam chowder was exactly how you did, in a sourdough bowl in San Francisco. I can’t wait to try this out myself.
