Cigarette Russes

November 17th, 2010

There’s something so appealing about delicate little cookies, even if you have to eat a dozen of them before you’re satisfied.  While thumbing through my new Martha Stewart cookie book last week, these Cigarette Russes caught my eye and I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to make them.  You have to refrigerate the batter for two hours before even getting started, which is usually enough to turn me off, but these were worth the wait.   I made a batch just to have some dessert at home, but they’d also make a great hostess/holiday/house warming gift stuck in a little jar with a simple ribbon.
