Chocolate Truffles

October 28th, 2010

One of my fondest memories from childhood revolved around the annual sample day at Lyla’s Chocolates.   Each October my mom and I would squeeze into the tiny shop, among hordes of other women, to try out their newest sugary sweets.  My favorites were always the honeycomb (which I made here) and their truffles, that were dark and rich with flavor.  The shop’s no longer there, but yesterday I made my own batch that were smooth, velvety and almost as good as I remember.
