Chocolate-Peppermint Wafers
Don’t get me wrong - there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a chocolate chip cookie or rustic tart, but when it comes to the holidays, I’m all about festive favorites. Real Simple’s Chocolate-Peppermint Wafers combine the best of two worlds with a classic sugar cookie that’s dipped in chocolate and then sprinkled with crushed candy canes. The recipe calls for square-cut cookies, but I added a few smaller ones that had scalloped edges for a sweet little twist.

definitely making them today. i love your recipes!
You have the patience of a saint, my dear! I can never muster the energy for all that careful cutting and dipping–I’m more of a ‘plop it on the tray and let it do what it wants” baker! one of these days i’m going to show up at your house unannounced and raid your cookie jar
These look scrumptious! I can barely handle Betty Crocker, but you may have inspired me to give this a shot. It’s supposed to be “simple,” right?

Yum, I love the scalloped edges.

I just found your blog and totally love it! I’ll be lurking and hoping to read more of your past posts! I can’t wait to try this recipe. I’m a little broke this christmas and am searching for a great cookie recipe so I can make ‘em and gift ‘em this season!
these look sooo yum, but i would be tempted to cover the whole cookie in chocolate!
If chocolate has anything to do with it it has to be great!
For all of those asking what nail polish Emily is wearing… I already knew! Only b/c I own it and it’s one of my faves! That and OPI’s ‘Do You Lilac It?”. I always get compliments when I wear them.
