Chocolate-Dipped Macaroons
July 21st, 2010
I have a rather interesting relationship with coconut. I’ve never actually liked the fruit itself, despite how wildly appealing it is when you’re sitting on some tropical beach. It’s just one of those things that looks better than it tastes. When it comes to desserts though, you won’t find a bigger fan. Yesterday I made coconut macaroons (I used this recipe) for a dinner party and I still can’t believe how easy they were to whip up. They were perfect on their own, but the addition of semi-sweet chocolate brought them to a whole other level.

I’m with you. I’ve never been a huge fan of coconut, but something happens when it’s in dessert! Your macaroons look DELISH! I’ll have to try the recipe.

Oh. my. god. Coconut macaroons are my favorite “cookie” or whatever you want to call them.
I’ve been loving Le Pain Quotidien’s coconut macaroons lately but I never thought about making my own! THANKS!

The ONLY time I am a fan of coconut is in desserts. I can’t even appreciate it in a drink unfortunately.

Delish! Have you ever tried Hail Merry Macaroons? they are Raw, Vegan, Gluten-Free, etc. and they are SO DELICIOUS! they have chocolate and vanilla/coconut. Check them out
They also have a DELICIOUS Meyer lemon tart that I’m OBSESSED with!
http://www.HailMerry.com I don’t think you can get the tarts online but if you wanted some I’d be happy to send you some – they are THAT good!
I don’t like coconut much but those look really yummy!
You always cook such nice things!
Can you take a photo of your closet/closets in another blog? I would love to see that!

We could be besties…..
Chocolate macaroons are so good. I have a recipe from Nordstrom that’s absolutely delicious. Alternatively, I really enjoy Scandinavian coconut cookies. They’re similar, but use medium coconut and don’t have the chocolate. They’re deliciously simple with only four ingredients and no flour. Here’s the recipe: http://outsideoslo.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/coconut-cookies-for-a-baking-whim/
So ironic! The friends and i were planning a get-together tomorow and were planning on whipping up a couple batches of coconut macaroons. Now that i came across the chocolate addition, we may just be using your version instead. (;
I can’t even think about the recipe and how good this looks because I am fixated on your photography skills. These are really amazing pictures.
sooooo mouth-watering.
i really want to taste it. lol.

Holy moly, do those look delicious! Coconut and chocolate has to be one of my top favorite flavor combinations ever.
Those look wonderful, and I don’t even really like coconut! Great job Em! My mom adores coconut macaroons I’ll have to try your recipe. I do love coconut water though, it’s my new obsession (I blame tabloid mags).
Yum! Looks so good! Seeing as you are a bit of a foodie, and obviously have a thing for cupcakes, you should join in my bake-n-blog party! Come by my blog to check it out, the more the merrier!
I’m hungry just looking at them haha!
