Chocolate Covered Honeycomb
For as long as I can remember, honeycomb has been one of my absolute favorite treats. My love affair began when I was five years old and my next door neighbor’s mother brought some back from England. I was immediately transfixed by the light and crunchy candy and have been trying to satisfy my cravings ever since. Though nothing compares with that initial excitement of my first honeycomb, this recipe comes pretty close.

Is it possible I’ve never had this treat? They look so delicious! I love honey, so I feel like I’d like this treat. Side note: I’ve been suffering from allergies forever and my aunt recently heard that eating a spoonful of local honey can alleviate symptoms. I’ve been trying it for a couple weeks now and I’m not sure if it’s helped, but it’s fun trying!

I’ve never heard of this before but I think I am going to have to try it this weekend – I like the chocolate covered touch too – makes it look extra delicious!
If you love honeycomb then you have to try a chocolate called Violet Crumble. It’s a fave here in Australia – not sure if it first came out in the UK though…. YUM! Better than Crunchie
Would it be possible to get invite to Gilt Groupe? Thanks Emily! I LOVE your blog : )

In New Zealand we call this hokey pokey and it is also an ice cream flavor that has little bits of hokey pokey in vanilla ice cream. Has to be tried if your ever in NZ
Looks yummy! I will have to try this one!
The chocolate can’t hurt either!
YUM…and YUM. I love honeycomb…is it as easy as it sounds to make? The minimal ingredients are friendly on the wallet, too!

Looks wonderful. What kind of chocolate did you use to dip it in?
Looks delicious! What kind of chocolate did you use to dip it in?
What kind of chocolate did you use to dip it in?
so tempting!
can’t you just buy honeycomb?? It’s really not worth making honeycomb here (Australia) except for fun, because it’s so cheap to just buy in the supermarket. I also can’t believe there are people who have never had honeycomb! I was so young when I first had honeycomb, I can’t even remember!
Andrew: hokey pokey is different to honeycomb, it’s generally butterscotch. (That’s how it is in Australia anyway, so I imagine NZ is not that different).
Oh, and Crunchie honeycomb is nowhere near as good as Violet Crumble or real honeycomb!!
i am trying to make this and it just comes out sticky and taffy-like. how long did you boil your mixture and how long did you let it set? any tips?
Thank you,
Brittany
Mmm great for a crunchy and chocolate fix !

We have this in Buffalo but we call it sponge candy and it consists of small little bubbles that are completely covered in milk, dark or orange chocolate. One of my all time favorites!!
