Chocolate Covered Honeycomb

February 3rd, 2010

For as long as I can remember, honeycomb has been one of my absolute favorite treats.  My love affair began when I was five years old and my next door neighbor’s mother brought some back from England.   I was immediately transfixed by the light and crunchy candy and have been trying to satisfy my cravings ever since.  Though nothing compares with that initial excitement of my first honeycomb, this recipe comes pretty close.

OMG..I love honeycomb. It’s my favorite favorite candy. Used to buy it at Hallmark Stores. I’ve got to try to make it! Thanks!

This recipe looked so delicious so I tried it for the first time last Christmas. You made it look so easy, but each time I’ve tried it has not worked quite well at all. What are your secrets?!?!

We have this in Buffalo but we call it sponge candy and it consists of small little bubbles that are completely covered in milk, dark or orange chocolate. One of my all time favorites!!

Makes me think about a candy bar from when I was young. The candy bar was called Velvet Crumble.
