Challah

March 30th, 2011

Challah has always been my favorite bread. It’s gorgeous, with its shiny braids and soft middle, and it brings back such great memories from my childhood. My mom was the baker growing up, so it seemed like one of those things that only she could make. But this past weekend, I followed this recipe and was really impressed with the results. The loaf is huge, so hopefully it will last us the rest of the week, or at least until we have time to use it for French Toast.

Hi emily, I have been following your blog for a while but I am beginning to be turned off by it by your comments. Most of them are one sentence approvals of whatever you posted and a link to their blog. And I never see a response from you, at least within the latest comments, so it seems like on big spam fest. Honestly, because of all this it seems like you take the time to post but then walk away and don’t actually care about your viewers opinion. What is the point of having a blog then? If this continues, I am going to move on…as much as I value your posts.

Challah – a Jewish essential. We make this once a month and end up with a ton of loaves to freeze, and we eat them on Shabbat. Yum!

This looks like it was made in a bakery! Great job. I love this kind of bread too, but the recipes always look so complicated – I’m novice in the kitchen. Thanks for the inspiration, maybe I’ll try this now. Yum! :)

I’ve never had challah, but it looks like I’ll have to give it a try. I found a good recipe online for no-knead bread. Have you ever tried that?

Challah is SOOOO addicting! I bought some from Whole Foods once, and I couldn’t put it down. Bad news. I probably ate 3 meals out of that stuff, haha.

I love Challah and it has always been one of my favorite breads. This looks so good I have to make some. How on earth do you eat all of these treats and stay so slim and fabulous looking?
