Caramel Apples

October 14th, 2010

I think caramel apples are one of the most appealing desserts imaginable.  And it’s such a simple concept: dunk a piece of fruit into a sugary coating, and you’re done. I had set aside the better part of yesterday afternoon to make these, but decided that instead of making my own caramel, I’d simply melt down the little ones that come already packaged.  It only took a few minutes, which is why I took the time to color code my Reese’s Pieces (fun, but totally not necessary).  I can’t wait to host my first brunch so that I can package these up and tie them for a sweet treat for my guests to take home.

I’m going to make these for the kid’s favors at my Halloween party. I’m sure they’ll love! The sprinkles look so fun and festive!!! Maybe I should make it for everyone… the adults would be jealous!!!. For my Christmas party… wouldn’t it be fun to have like a craft table for the kids to decorate the carmel apples? ! Yes!! I’ve got my craft idea…
