Cap it Off

January 9th, 2013

Rag & Bone Hat, BB Dakota Coat, Topshop Tank Top, Current/Elliott Boyfriend Jeans, Manolo Blahnik Heels, Reiss Clutch

I spent the majority of elementary school in backwards hats (paired with oversized animal shirts and leggings), so I hadn’t exactly given them much thought since then. But this one feels dressed up in the most understated way without having to commit to a sports team. I’ve also been wearing this colorblock coat nonstop – it’s one of the most versatile pieces in my closet and makes even the most androgynous of outfits a bit more pulled together.

I love your blog and your outfits, but I’m not feeling this one…the outfit is great but the hat is not working for me…

It’s so hard to find a good fashionable hat that works and it does not look too sporty.

I think you pull it off perfectly and I love the hat it goes with your eyes.

Loving that jacket. The two-tone is so chic. I am also obsessing over ball caps this season! I love the wool touch, it makes it dressy as well as warm.

I usually don’t like wearing hats, but I think I can pull off a style like this one. It’s difficult styling hats but you did a great job!

You look adorable in that hat. Some girls can pull off the baseball hat so well and look still very cute and feminine and you are one!

Ugh I LOVE a good baseball cap, but I only seem to be able to wear them in the summer. This one totally makes the style feasible in winter, which is awesome. Thanks, Emily!

i love the baseball cap look. it’s too bad that more women don’t see that it can be dressed up or down. as a new mama i am constantly throwing a cap over my unwashed hair. my ratty old cubs hat still looks good with heels :)

How come you didn’t put up a disclaimer, this is OBVIOUSLY a SPONSORED post cause it’s also on fashiontoast!

      Hi Jane,

I was not paid or provided anything for this post. The fact that Rumi happened to wear the same hat recently is a pure coincidence. If I was to ever do a sponsored post, it must (by law) be clearly marked. Thanks and have a great day.

I love the tomboyish feel to this outfit! The feminine keep it looking girly and cute. You never fail at creating outfits.

Not only is this a great fashion look – but the backdrop graffiti is also by a great artist named Curtis Kulig!

    Cheers!

I am in love with with baseball hat trend, particularly the ones like yours that remind me of propeller hats without the propeller.
