Buttermilk Panna Cotta

March 19th, 2013

panna cotta5

When we entertain, we tend to serve hearty food (like a big bowl of homemade mac and cheese or lasagna), so by the time dessert rolls around, everyone’s sufficiently stuffed. Typically I’ll bring out a plate of cookies, but tiny servings of buttermilk panna cotta is decadent without being over the top. The trick is to keep the serving size really small (our glasses hold only 3oz) and to top it with fresh fruit. These are wonderfully creamy, but not too sweet, and after a dinner served family-style, it’s nice to offer individual servings of dessert.

Are they shot glasses? or espresso. Great size for the 5 year old, who’s not asking for sweet treats. Not the same fruit treats mommy! I would like a sweet treat
    Thanks for the idea

P.S. I met you at your book signing that was held at South Moon Under in Virginia, and might I add that you were head over heels, fabulous. I’m not sure if you remember, but I was the one who had the panda case on my iphone.

P.P.S. I just want you to know that you have been an inspiration for me to start my own blog, and I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude for that.

I feel this comment should be pre-faced with a “I don’t mean to be snarky, but…” I hope my feedback comes across in the manner its intended. I’m a long-time reader, but first-time commenter.

It is good to see you use a direct link to a recipe. In previous posts where you’ve linked to a recipe on your site that led to a copied and pasted version of someone else’s recipe, it has seemed strange and slightly deceiving. It also made me question the integrity of your site.

Am loving your new features and the general look and feel of your blog. Keep rocking it!
