Cupcakes and Cashmere

Busy Bee

June 12th, 2009

I was so disappointed when I found out that it’s supposed to drizzle for the majority of the weekend.  After the initial shock set in though, I realized it would give me some much needed time to tackle a few of the things I’ve been meaning to do.

Visit the Farmers’ market to fill my sad, empty vases with some colorful flowers (I made this one in college).

Come up with a better way to organize my jewelry (note: this photo shows about 1/15th of what I actually own.  The rest is in one giant knot in my bathroom drawer).

Finish one of the six books I’m currently reading (don’t judge that New Moon is currently at the top of my list).

tw-5.jpg

Find a way to organize my shoes so that I can accommodate some of the few I’ve been eying recently (is it normal to have two other sections dedicated to boots and flats?).

Make some chili and cornbread for a big Sunday meal.

I hope you have wonderfully productive weekends as well!

I found that a great way to organize my necklaces is by using a belt hanger because it has about eight or so hooks… short stubby items are good for stacking rings. And I finally got around to finishing up the last of the Twilight series… so good! Those books really are addicting and I can see why girls go crazy over the book, Edward not so much :X

when you figure out how to organize your jewelry please share!! I really need to start a good book. The last one I read, I found in the back seat of the plane.

oh and TJ’s has the BEST cornbread mix to go along with your chili. Just for future chili sunday dinners. Yup I’m a Trader Joes fanatic.

I don’t know if those books in that picture are “to-be read” or ones you have already completed, but The Girls Guide to Hunting & Fishing is great! My friend, and fellow blogger, Marli (http://chasesimplicity.blogspot.com/), gave it to me when I moved overseas it and I didn’t like it at first, but loved it when I finished it. It’s really something relatable. Hope you enjoy it :)

    hey, hello, I’m French.
I found your beautiful blog, you seem very level set mode.

    I like a lot.

PS: For the photo, or it is marked in French “The Flower”, it is a mistake, it says “The Flower” is feminine.
Yes, the French language is unique and complicated!
    Aha.

    xoxo.

As a french reader of your blog, I really enjoy it! I may only suggest we say “La fleur” and not “le fleur”. Good job on everything!
