Bright Details
July 9th, 2010
Yesterday I spent some time browsing around a stationery store and came home with some cheery note cards (#3) and a practical note cube in yellows and greens (#4). It reminded me how much of an impact the smallest bit of color can have on a room, so I’ve collected several other objects that are sure to bring a dose of sunshine inside. Here’s to hoping the sun will actually come out this weekend in L.A.
1. Kate’s Paperie, File Folders (Set of 12): $16
2. Paper Source, Blue and Curry Pom Pom Towels (Set of 2): $19.95
3. Jack and Lulu, Green Stripes Folded Notes (Set of 10): $12.50
4. Jonathan Adler, Note Cubes: $13
5. Target, Yellow and Red Stripes Tumbler (Set of 8): $19.99
6. Crate and Barrel, Utensil Holder/Condiment Tray: $6.95 and $8.95

I love those utensil and condiment holders! So genius for eating outdoors in the summer.
I love colorful stationary and things too! You can get some cute and colorful desk organizer stuff for cheap right now at Marshall’s and I pick up most of my note cards from Target. If you’re looking for some really cheap organizing solutions check out the Dollar Tree or other dollar stores. I’m always surprised by the stuff I find there.
Adorable! The splash of color really does make all the difference.

I love having a bright and colorful room. It makes me want to keep it that way all the time.
You sure know how to pick them Em! I love those luggage tags and colorful tumblers. They are so reasonably priced. I always try to infuse color into a room whenever I can. Such as my boring officespace, which looks a little more cheerful with a colorful mousepad.
So pretty and bright. I love those file folders. I’m in love with pretty and colorful file folders, they make work so much more fun.

Luv the tumblers – almost has a vintage feel.
seriously love your site. pretty much every page. just spent an hour here! keep it up!
I love how fresh your blog is. It’s so girly!
Stationary stores are one of my shopping weaknesses. seriously and while I was pregnant and unable to really buy any clothes (although I was definitely one of those gals who desperately tried to fashion regular clothes into maternity clothes) I went bananas on the stationary and other paper goods – napkins, stationary, paper plates, plastic cups, notecards, everything.
and ps, you’re so right about the pink situation! Lucia has A LOT of pink but I didn’t want to overdo it in her room or for her first photos. In fact, the picture is in black and white but the carpet is actually a light blue/lavender. I loved the pattern on it – it is really feminine and whimsical but not overly so bc of the color. I think I will do a post on her nursery soon. you’ve inspired me! x
love the pompom towels!
a how-to question that i can’t seem to find the answer to anywhere: how did you make that lovely photo collage?
thankyou!
the file folders are just what i need!! what a great deal

I whore for color so I thoroughly understand your vibe in this post. Adore the File folders, with as much paperwork as I have to keep track of, it just might be enjoyable if the folders were this pretty.
