Cupcakes and Cashmere

Bridal Shower Barbecue

August 17th, 2011

This weekend I’m co-hosting my first bridal shower for one of my very best friends (you can see her blog here). Rachel is one of the most creative, generous, thoughtful people I know, so a typical bridal shower (filled with lots of frills and lace, dorky games with tea and crumpets) wasn’t going to cut it. Instead, we’re having a Southern-themed afternoon, with ribs, a signature cocktail, (we’re leaning towards something with whiskey and peach) and homemade pies. Here are a few images I found on Pinterest that have served as inspiration and I’ll be happy if I come even close to replicating their cuteness.

*First image via What Katie Ate. Third image via The Nichols Blog. I saved all of these images onto my desktop a while ago from Pinterest, so unfortunately I don’t know the source for the rest. Should you know where a certain image is from, please feel free to let me know and I’ll make sure to credit accordingly!

I just had the honor of hosting an engagement party for two of my closest friends and I drew a lot of inspiration from photos like this. It was a wonderful experience and if you give yourself enough time, im sure you can put special touches and twists in the decor to create something the happy couple will remember forever. Read my blog at http://vivelaluxe.wordpress.com/ and see how my party turned out. Subscribe for some great menu and decoration ideas for your next party!

I recently went to a wedding and they had pies in little “Ball” Brand canning jars. They were the perfect size for a pie since everyone was full from all the other food. I think Target had the jars for $4/5 jars.
