Black Cat

When we first rescued Luna, we were applauded for bringing home a black cat (apparently there are a lot of superstitious people out there).  I accepted the praise and didn’t mention that I just happen to be obsessed with Halloween.  Luna was the first to receive a dose of decorating this past week (how very Alexander McQueen is her collar?) and my friend Cristina was kind enough to accompany to three separate stores so that our apartment will look the part as well.  Fall brings with it a lot of exciting things, but Halloween certainly tops my list.

  1. Oh, Luna is just so chic!

  2. Yay Luna! Can you go out of town so I can take care of her again?!

  3. Loving your blog and Halloween also – mainly because it’s my birthday so it means dressing up AND presents! It always makes for great themed birthday parties. Starting the countdown now!

  4. Luna is lovely! I have two cats myself, and just have to ask: where DID you get that amazing collar for her? LOVE it!

  5. cute cat

  6. I too rescued my cat, Lulu, in January. She is 3 and people wondered why I didn’t get a kitten but I specifically wanted to rescue. She is a total joy as I’m sure Luna is for you. She is beautiful!

  7. When I was 5 years old, my parents took me to the Humane Society to pick out a kitten. No matter all their pushing towards the white fluffy kittens, I gravitated to the scrawny looking black kitten in the corner. Good thing my parents ended up letting me take control of the situation, because Skeeter ended up being the love of my life for 18 years! I swear by it, black cats are good luck :)

  8. I love black cats.

  9. She’s too cute! My parents rescued a black kitten around Halloween, she was soo teeny tiny! They found her on the side of the road crying in the rain so they picked her up and brought her home. Because she was a black cat and it was around Halloween (my family and I LOVE Halloween also!)we wanted to name her something spooky but ended up spooking ourselves with the names we tossed around! Her name ended up being Josie and shes the sweetest cat ever. I love black cats, I think they are gorgeous and Luna is such a clever name!

  10. my friends and i often plot about catching stray cats and planting them in my backyard so it forces my mom to let me adopt him. cute kitty, luna after the black cat from sailor moon? i used to want to name my cat luna after luna from sailor moon, he was so funny. i can’t wait till halloween either although i have no idea what to wear, i just want to carve a pumpkin!!!!

  25. It’s so funny, I’ve never really been into Halloween…I kind of avoid it, to be honest with you!…but last year I dressed the dogs up as Biggie and Tu-paco! Have to represent my love of hip hop, you know:) This year I think I’ll be holed up with a baby girl. She’ll be in a little ghost shirt that says Boo that my sister gave her!

  26. I have a beautiful black cat as well! I believe that she needs an awesome collar just like your Luna. Reading on twitter about you getting out your Halloween decorations has inspired me to get mine out as well!
