Pint Size Pie

I had never heard of Whoopie Pies before I saw a sweet little line of them in Magnolia Bakery this past weekend.  Ever since I passed on the sandwiched little cakes, I’ve been wanting to make a batch of my own with a seasonal spin.  I referred to Martha Stewart, who not only provided an easy-to-follow recipe (here), but one that included pumpkin (something I add to just about everything in fall).  They turned out light and fluffy with a decadently creamy filling and their petite size makes them a welcomed alternative to pumpkin pie.

  6. A girl after my own heart: equally loves fashion and food. A serious question though: do you have a steady workout or do you have the world’s fastest metabolism? I’m sure your readers would love to know!

  7. they look delicious! :)

  8. This is exciting! I’m from a small Pennsylvania town where everyone knows what a whoopie pie is (and not too many appreciate great fashion, other than me)! Usually they are chocolate with marshmallow or cupcake-icing-type filling. Peanut butter filling is pretty popular too, but if you like pumpkin you could switch up your recipe. At a farmer’s market I go to, lots of stands sell regular chocolate whoopie pies and also pumpkin whoopies. They are made with pumpkin cakes and cream cheese frosting. They are my favorite and I’m craving one now!
P.S. My mom makes zuchinni whoopie pies in summer when we have so many extra in our garden. Also very delicious and they freeze really well so we have them all year!
P.P. S. I’ve been a fan of you blog for awhile. Love it!
