Pint Size Pie
I had never heard of Whoopie Pies before I saw a sweet little line of them in Magnolia Bakery this past weekend. Ever since I passed on the sandwiched little cakes, I’ve been wanting to make a batch of my own with a seasonal spin. I referred to Martha Stewart, who not only provided an easy-to-follow recipe (here), but one that included pumpkin (something I add to just about everything in fall). They turned out light and fluffy with a decadently creamy filling and their petite size makes them a welcomed alternative to pumpkin pie.

Life In Technicolor.
they look absolutely tasty. the creamy filling with its cream colour really makes the cookie stands out. i definitely have to praise your sense of fashion as well as your sense of cooking too
These look insanely good! And I think they would go quite well with the pumpkin ice cream that I bought last night!

Oh man – I also add pumpkin to everything in the fall! Mmm thanks so much for posting this. Can’t wait to try it out!
Um, I’ll take three dozen, please! I can’t wait for Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks. That is my absolute favorite flavor. It’s also the only flavor that doesn’t come in sugar-free, to my knowledge, but really…if you’re gonna do it, you might as well do it up, right?!
this looks divine. I bet it would be yummy with a chocolate chip cookie too.
those look great, especially with the pumpkin flavor. autumn really is the best!
delicious!
I grew up on whoopie pies…those things are delicious!

those look delicious!!!
I think I’ve tried every single recipe you ever posted, and they never fail to disappoint me. Hello, whoopie pies- next on my list. I just wish they had a different name, I don’t like the word whoopie.
I stood in front of a box of these at Trader Joe’s for about 10 minutes yesterday and then again at Whole Foods. I walked away empty handed, but I’m thinking I may just have to try making my own!
damn, those look good!
see me abroad in Barcelona, Spain at http://www.fashionsnag.com
Sinful.
These look amazing! Chocolate and pumpkin… drool. I’d love to make them but I’m not exactly handy in the kitchen. Is the recipe fairly idiot-proof?
Cute! I don’t care much for eating Magnolia’s treats, but I love how so many of them look like little pieces of art!

I love any kind of a sandwich cookie. Those look positively scrumptious!
That looks so yummy! Will have to try those soon.
Pumpkin is the best during fall. These almost look like mini cheeseburgers! I have been having such a sweet tooth lately. Prob, from this stupid paleo diet I am on.
Looks yummy!
A girl after my own heart: equally loves fashion and food. A serious question though: do you have a steady workout or do you have the world’s fastest metabolism? I’m sure your readers would love to know!
they look delicious!
This is exciting! I’m from a small Pennsylvania town where everyone knows what a whoopie pie is (and not too many appreciate great fashion, other than me)! Usually they are chocolate with marshmallow or cupcake-icing-type filling. Peanut butter filling is pretty popular too, but if you like pumpkin you could switch up your recipe. At a farmer’s market I go to, lots of stands sell regular chocolate whoopie pies and also pumpkin whoopies. They are made with pumpkin cakes and cream cheese frosting. They are my favorite and I’m craving one now!
P.S. My mom makes zuchinni whoopie pies in summer when we have so many extra in our garden. Also very delicious and they freeze really well so we have them all year!
P.P. S. I’ve been a fan of you blog for awhile. Love it!
Pumpkin is THE best.

I am always trying to find gluten free treats and substituted an all purpose gluten free flour and these turned out absolutely amazing! Possibly the best and easiest gluten free cookie I’ve ever tasted or made! I know it’s a year later, but I just had to share for anyone else with a gluten allergy.
Looks divine!! I’ve always been a fan of whoppie pies… never heard of pumpkin whoopie pies but sounds even better! Thanks for sharing, by the way I LOOOOOOVVVEEE your blog. I discovered it about a month ago and I’m simply in love with your posts, because of you I’m inspired to redecorate my whole house… This may sound weird but my life is different because of you.
