Behind Bars
Ever since last Summer’s infatuation with gladiator sandals, feet have remained caged up in strappy shoes, this time with even more complex construction. I’m still enamored with the trend and I’ve chosen six possible purchases that are as much sturdy as they are intricate.
1. Fendi – Nubuck Zip Cage Stiletto, $810.
2. Jeffrey Campbell – Marley Platform, $125.
3. TopShop – Zip-up Peep Toe Shoe, $135.
4. Nine West – Dasolina, $99 $39.99.
5. Cynthia Vincent – Luella, $400.
6. Dolce Vita – Cher, $152 $119.95.

Love the Jeffrey Campbells. The true gladiators – flat, caged sandals – don’t ring my chimes, but these heeled versions are really fun!

I like #5, but I feel like they would be so hard to walk in… also a little hard on the wallet
I tend to agree with the above as I too broke down, giving in to the call of the Nine West ‘Yung’ last week. Looking at these selctions, I’m drawn to the Fendi’s, the Jeffrey Campbells, and the Dolce Vitas.
I really want #5, they are just too perfect.
I love six the best, the heel and cage is the most interesting. I’ve tried the nine west ones before, they aren’t that sturdy. I already follow your blog:)
I have the camp heels from JC and it seems like all his shoes are so comfy, like even though the heel is 4″, the inside is like a cushy tennis shoe, highly recommend
I am really liking the super strappy heels right now, and holy cow I LOVE #2!!! And #5 is a close second

Honestly, this is one trend I just don’t get.
Hmm… I don’t know, I’m not the biggest fan of the new spin on gladiator sandals-adding a heel. Maybe I’ll come around by spring, but for now I’m a fan of my flat heeled ones. Plus, gladiator sandals have become my new go to shoe in the spring & summer (replacing the flip-flop) and I can’t imagine making these my new go-to.
I adore #6.
I’m not really a fan of gladiators or zippers, but I love number 5 – Cynthia Vincent.
#2 is so fab!

I have the Jeffrey Campbells and I absolutely love them!!!! Soooo comfortable!
5 and 6. They’re less common that the first 4 silhouettes/shapes/cuts.

obviously i like the most expensive ones! luckily urban outfitters carries something similar.

I love the Jeffrey Campbell and Nine West ones. The nine west is a true bargain, and the purple is bright and fun. And the jeffrey campbells, really make you feel like you’re caged in. I love them both!
