Hi Emily, I like Cath Kidston and the patterns they make. Are you going to stick to this neutral tone to your bedroom throughout the year? I’d love to see what you would do with patterns (like the homely summery Cath Kidston ones).

Love to know sources where you care to give them… especially the bedspread.

We’d been looking for a solid gray or silver bedspread (not too girly, not too manly) and haven’t come across anything perfect so in the meantime settled for something less than ideal in the meantime, but I’d love to know where yours is from!

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for this post. I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately and moved my clock from my bedside table…I sleep much, much, much better now. And making our bed in the AM really gets the day off to a great start!

Thanks for sharing Emily. I believe in a lot of these. I never thought of not having a clock in the room. Well, I don’t have a clock but I do keep a phone by my bed and every night whenever I wake up I will look at it to see if I have a message or see what time it is and how much sleep I have left. Which is the worst because I feel like after then I just keep waking up! : /
I lovee the new layout by the way. It has been awhile since I have visited your blog.

Just the same things I believe in, except that I still keep my laptops inside my room (LDR sucks).

I also make it a point to sweep and vaccume my room every now and then. It makes a difference!

Another rule of the bedroom I’ve heard is to keep it free of any photos of your kids. They likely infiltrate the rest of the house – as they should – but even parents deserve an oasis that belongs only to {ahem} the two of them.
