Monthly Beauty Buys

Posted August 6th, 2014

I’ve been on a quest to find the products to help combat dull skin – the side effect of a really dry summer – and I think I may have hit the jackpot. Here's my July beauty buys that have worked in conjunction to make my skin glow again (you can also see my picks for April, May, and June).

Aesop Geranium Body Scrub As functional as it is luxurious, this body scrub not only leaves my skin smooth, but the floral scent can only be described as transportive (it’s like I’m at a fancy spa). I use this a couple times a week in lieu of body wash to slough off flaky, dull skin.

Lucas Papaw A popular Australian salve derived from papaya (or papaw) that’s both medicinal and hydrating. I have perpetually dry skin, so I've been relying on this thick ointment to soothe scaly lips, elbows, and knees and make sure to slather it on before bed each night.

Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer I'd read about this product for years (it pretty much tops the best concealer list consistently), but always balked at the hefty price tag. But for someone who prefers not to wear heavy foundation, I rely on a good concealer to have my skin looking and feeling its best. Beyond the fact that the shade perfectly matches my skin tone, I love that it offers build-able coverage that’s lightweight and powdery: this concealer manages to cover my blemishes and dark spots without ever feeling sticky. It’s like an airbrushing tool in stick form and makes my skin look smooth and even.
