Most mornings I follow the same tired look for my beauty routine - a bit of tinted moisturizer, brow pencil, mascara, and if I'm feeling really crazy, a swipe of pink lipgloss. The other day when having lunch with a friend, I was admiring her slightly-smokey-seductively-smudged eyeliner and decided I needed to give it a try. In order to keep it from looking too dramatic for daytime, I did it in a deep purple hue (it's so much softer than black) and complemented it with a lip stain and light pink cheeks for a berry-inspired palette.
I love the look of a cheek stain since it adds nice color without it falling flat or appearing chalky. Tarte's "Dollface" is my favorite and can be layered for a more intense shade.
I used Esteé Lauder's "Blackened Plum" eyeliner to line inside my eyes, along the top, and bottom and then smudged it into my lashes a bit. The look should feel polished, but not too perfect.
Finally, I added this stain to my lips (it's usually just for cheeks) in X-Pose Rose to add a bit of color without the heaviness of a lipstick.
