Hi, I must say that I’ve seen lots of posts like this where people are explaining how to use a self-tanner, but none of them where this extensive. The step by step images were a nice touch. Thanks for sharing the tutorial.

I also like the towels because they are so much easier to apply. However, I love Xen-Tan because of the tone/undertone of the product: it is actually olive. There is no yellow/orange undertone, so the tanning looks natural. One detail to be cautious about though: do not apply with bare hands – it is very difficult to wash out after applying (use the proper gloves).

Have you ever tried organic home-made products? Like a tea stain? Just curious. I am highly allergic to all chemicals, etc. used in regular products.

I do not like self-tanners. I do not see the purpose of it. Honestly, I am very surprised you are using them. Please, stop ASAP! They make the skin looking unhealthy.

Aaah and I always asked myself why you look so orangy! Stop it girl I think you would look much better with your natural fair skin. I know there is always this pressure up there in the states to deny your natural pale skin tone but us southlandish girls always enjoy watching the fair lights of the north.

I’m always so nervous to use self tanner because 1) I feel like I’m going to mess it up and 2) I am heavily freckled and I’m unsure if it’s going to look good.

The best thing I ever discovered is that I can use the self-tanning mist spray on my face, neck and chest right after I get out of the shower (instructions say not to do this, but nothing bad has happened yet). I just wrap my hair in a towel, make sure my ears are uncovered, spray in a sweeping motion with my eyes closed for my face, and stand under the fan for 5 minutes to dry. Looks natural and saves so much time, plus, no dirty hands! Also, when I tan my legs with lotion, I always use tight-fitting latex type gloves and no more dirty looking fingernails.
