Beachside Tourist

Back in October I wrote about my first “staycation” (here) in my hometown of San Francisco. It was such a treat to experience the city from a different perspective and this week I’ve been visiting some of the touristy spots in L.A. with my best friend who’s visiting from out of town. We walked along the pier, ate cotton candy, got matching mani/pedis, bought gimmicky souvenirs and enjoyed lobster club sandwiches. It’s nice to be reminded of the fun little things about my city that I have a tendency to forget.
One of the better consequences of a down-economy
I love re-appreciating my surroundings. Its like the most pleasant surprises out of things you pass by everyday.

Sounds like a great day! After seeing your beautiful pictures, I know have the urge to plan a trip out to California. But, since that may not happen for a while, I’ll just have to settle by doing my own version of a staycation here in Atlanta.

I live in So Cal and I’m looking forward to these warm weekends coming back. I so long to spend the weekend at the beach and riding my bike…and of course getting a frozen chocolate banana on the pier!

The boyfriend and I did this recently, checked out a local tourist spot. I plan on doing it regularly from now on.
