Army Green
Ben Sherman Jacket, French Connection Dress, Martin + Osa Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Vintage Lanvin Glasses, Hue Tights, Steve Madden Booties, Vintage Clutch
On Saturday night we had two birthday parties to attend so I needed an outfit that could easily transition from a formal gathering to a rowdy bar. I figured some sort of updo would be best since my hair has gotten to a point that it’s far too long to wear down without offending people with my split ends. It also worked for the long ride down to Irvine since I undoubtedly fall asleep anytime I’m in a car for more than half an hour and it didn’t get messed up with the braids piled on top of my head.

How did you do your hair?
Those Steve Madden booties are unbelievable. And I love that you can do that to your hair. My hair is so uncooperative.

love the glasses and the clutch. i’m hardcore in a vintage mode right now (let’s be honest, i’ve been in it since i was 15). the right vintage pieces can totally jazz up any outfit to get that one of a kind look. just posted this amazing vintage dress i picked up here in park slope the other day. would look ubercute with some vintage sunglasses like yours!

I LOVE this look! My favourite in a while. Your jacket is so cool…and your hair is beautiful. Maybe a how-to in the future?
Great hairstyle.
LOVE IT!! LOOOOOOOVE IT, Em!! Can you do my hair like that when you come?! Because when I do braids, they come out looking like a kindergardener, and yours look so chic and effortless. The boys can, like, drink beers or something while you do your fancy work. OK, it’s set then
hehe

loveee your outfit. All those neutral colors are my faves. The red sunglasses add a nice splash!!
You always look pretty, but I also love your hair. Do you have any tips on where to buy fake braids (my hair is entirely too thin to pull off big pretty braids like that)? Thanks, love your blog!
I love your booties!!!
How do you do those braids? I’ve been trying lately, but I’ve never been able to do (I always blame it on my haircut, not my inability to actually braid my hair).
I love your hair!

That’s one hair style I’d love to try or at least playing with braided styles.
ps. You should definitely try the lace top floral combo thing. (doesn’t have to be leggings.).
