American Pie
In the amount of time that it takes to call for pizza, you can make your own pie (minus the creepy delivery guy at your door and bad stomach ache to follow). Trader Joe’s sells refrigerated dough* for less than $2, which is not only economical but incredibly easy. Just roll it out, throw on some pizza sauce, a blend of four cheeses, fire-roasted peppers and some fresh basil and you’ve got yourself a simple, one-dish meal.
*Extra points if you choose whole wheat dough.

I love how you look just the teensiest bit maniacal standing in front of all those knives! The pizza looks delicious, though; great idea!
Are you sure I can make that in the time it takes to order a pizza? You don’t know my lack of cooking skills

yum!
Mmm, looks delectable.
Pizza looks so good! Great to know trader’s joes sells pizza dough. where is your dress from? I need more dresses to wear to work and yours is simply fabulous! Please let me know!
roasted tomatoes, olives and feta is another delicious alternative. and i agree – whole wheat is the best! your pizza looks delish – yum!
Yummy! I didn’t even know they sold the dough for pizza. I’m going to have to try it!
I love the Trader Joe’s dough! Yum!
That dress is so cute- where’s it from! If you say Forever21, I am going to find it asap!
Looks great! I’m actually making pizza tonight- I’m trying out some gluten-free pizza dough mix I got this weekend.
YUM! That pizza looks so delicious!
i love doing this with TJ’s dough! …granted i’ve only done it once, but i loved it that one time. But i’m definitely doing it again, and maybe i’ll have to try your recipe! (btw, i just used that citrus sangria recipe that you posted a while back and lllloved it! thank you!)
xoxo
That looks yum. Pretty dress too x

yum yum! whats up with your knife rack? is it magnetic?
i remember you saying back in the day that you were no good in the kitchen. boy have things changed! you have become quite the cook. nice post
i <3 TJ’s pizza dough. while whole wheat is good for you, the garlic & herb one is quite yummy and also makes great herb twists.
yum! good thing trader’s joes is right down the block!
yum yum! love your dress too! where’s that from
yummy looking and super healthy to make pizza at home. just want to let you know i have a shoe giveaway i think you might like. : )
Great idea! Looks so delicious.
If we only had a Trader Joes!!
Mmm yes yes! My family loves to get the whole wheat dough and make our own pizza. It’s always so much better than ordering.
xo, Kate
OOh thanks for the inspiro, I’m going to have to stop by trader joes tonight..
Hey! Just a tip about the basil, put it on in the last five minutes so it isn’t quite as crispy. Basil doesn’t need to cook as long as everything else, so we usually just pull out the pizza and plunk some on a few minutes before we want to take it out.
yum. I usually have few balls of that dough in the freezer for last minute dinners, and the whole wheat is super tasty.
the knives in the background juxtaposed with your sweet, welcoming smile makes for one very interesting photo
and the pizza looks so yum, my boyfriend got me hooked on homemade pizzas using the pre-made dough. he tends to top with bacon which kinda ruins the good-for-you factor just a notch!
We made pizza last night too! Must have been something in the air.
I love making pizza! My family used to do it all the time when I was little.
i tried that a few months ago and completely ruined both the pizzas i was making! i don’t know what went wrong!
That looks AMAZING! I have no idea how to cook, i’m so impressed!:)
we do this all of the time!
Gosh, i love how you do everything yourself. Do you come up with your own recipes?
Great job, darling! And you look even more lovely than that pie!
xoxox,
CC
Um, YUM!
I love making this recipe. My boyfriend and I have homemade pizza at least once a week and ours is very similar to yours it seems. I was wondering though, what sauce do you use? We have tried a number of different ones and I’m not particularly crazy about any of them.
As usual, LOVE your posts!

We recently picked up a couple of pizza dough’s at TJs and loved how convenient and cheap it was. Made a BBQ chicken pizza and it was absolutely delish!
I used that exact same dough from Trader Joe’ s (even the whole wheat one too!) and it didn’t come out right..I think my roller was being faulty, but the dough just wouldn’t be flat! I gave up and stuck it in the oven, and it still came out raw! Nevertheless, it was a failure! I must say yours looks a LOT better than mine! Maybe I should attempt again?

Oh YUMZ!! Thanks for making it look so simple and easy! And not to mention healthy!
XO
Whenever I think of pizza delivery guys, my mind goes to that fun 80s movie, Loverboy. It’s such a fun, “Can’t Buy Me Love” kind of flick!
Yum YUm! You are making me hungry!
Oh, wow ! I love fresh crust and your toppings sound delish. Make me want to run to the store and buy ingredients right now!
OMG you’ve just inspired us w/pizza! I love it!
MMMmmm…I should try to make my own pizza
Thank you for this post, because this is what I just made for dinner. If it wasn’t for you posting this my husband would of come home tonight hungry with no idea of what to make. I made my own whole wheat dough and everything. Yum Yum! Show more food, so I can copy!
you look so immaculate even when u’re cooking!
I love watching the dough rise when you bake pizza. The crust is always my favorite!
Yum! Great looking pizza and fabulous tip!
Try the herb and garlic pizza dough from Trader Joes….I had it on saturday and it was SO good!!
Your pizza looks so delicious!!
Pizza is one of those things I never get tired of eating. We have some family get together, and my dad makes pizza. Just had some last night. Your pizza looks pretty tasty too. Yummmm. =)
This post totally inspired me to make homemade pizza! This is totally what bloggin’ should be about, right?
Mmmm. I wasn’t even hungry and now I’m totally craving a homemade pizza. That looks delicious!
Making your dought is just as easy; I usually make a big batch on weekends, freeze in small portions it before it rises, and then take it out the morning of.
Also, I’m a big proponent of cooking my pizza at a high temperature (475F) and putting herbs on before serving. It’s more traditionally Italian…but then again I’m Canadian. We fail at pizza-making in restos here.
You’re always showing such great looking food, and yet, you have such a lovely figure. How do you do it?!
Looks amazing!
