All That Shimmers
A couple of weeks back, I followed a girl around the mall until I finally asked her about her insanely sparkly nails. Turns out, it wasn’t a polish, but Cal Gel. I’m still not entirely sure what it is, but all I know is that it stays for 3+ weeks and doesn’t ruin your nails. Done and done. I made an appointment at her salon (yes, I’m that much of a stalker), Marie Nails, and now I have some seriously gold nails that are distractingly fun.

Wow. Your nails are so gold! Very fun! I recently started getting gel manicures at my nail salon who uses the Axxium system by OPI. It lasts about two weeks and remains shiny the whole time. Definitely worth looking into!

I’ve been getting CalGel for a while — ever since I saw it in Japan! I have a hard time getting it to last perfectly for a full 3 weeks, but it does last pretty long. My advice is to get clear on the bottom so that you can just reapply topcoat and not see how much your nails have grown out. We have Marie Nails here in NYC too, but my favorite is an artist named Naomi who works at Hello Beautiful Salon in Brooklyn. If you ever have time when you are in the city, she’s so worth it!
Gesso nails – I love them!
What happens if your nails grow at a ridiculously fast rate? Do you end up having to fill in the bottoms often? Cause these are seriously cute, but I don’t know if they’d work for my weed-like nails!

My sister in Hawaii wear Cal Gel. I work as a receptionist here in SRQ at a nail spa and our salon is one of the best in town, however, my boss doesn’t know about it – we don’t offer them. But Cal Gel looks so pretty indeed, it doesn’t look heavy nor too fake – looks so natural. I have never worn fake nails, but I wouldn’t mind Cal Gel on my nails during winter if my salon offers it…

Oh my goodness! I saw something similar to this at my nail plave last week. They had all the glittery samples out and I was suddenly very aware of my boring coral nails.

OPI has a similar gel polish that is amazing, and comes in all my favorite OPI colors (woo Cajun Shrimp!). It has changed my life and saved me from 20 years of nail biting.
The gold is a great choice! A coworker told me about that gel and swears by it. Looks like it’s worth checking out!

The glitter nails are great! My roommate came home last week with “nail patches” from Sephora in gold and black zebra stripes. She said they have pink argyle and leopard print, too. Oh, the fun things use girls get to do!

Love them! I was vacationing in Montana last Labor day and got a gift certificate for a local salon as my birthday gift. The girls there were doing “rockstar nails” and enticed me into getting them. I got gold one’s just like yours, I love them! I was so sad when they finally started chipping.

I went to Sex and the City 2 today and Samantha had these nails in Abu Dabi. I adore them. I don’t know if I could pull them off, but I’d definitely like to try. I think I’d love a shiny dark maroon in the fall/winter.

I used to get a bio sculpture mani and pedi. Sure you can jewel it up, but i prefered having them like yours: short and single coloured.

I used to get a Cal Gel french manicure back in my flight attendant days…I worked for a private airline that transports military units and football teams (separately of course) and boy did those guys appreciate a little sparkle with their beef or chicken ; )

gel nails arent supposed to be good for your nails bc they still have to file down your nails, put on adhesive glue stuff and rough up your nails. Shellac (cnd.com) is 100% safe and uses no chemicals and only uses a UV light for not more than 1 minute total. I got it done and LOVE IT! although i love your gold nails so much too!
