My best friend Natalia and I haven't lived in the same place since we were in high school. It seems crazy to think that it's been so long, but since we still talk all the time on the phone and see each other with some regularity, it doesn't seem so bad. It does mean that simple things like phone conversations carry more weight, which led us to develop a bit of a strategy for those annoying times when calls drop. You know when someone's service dies or they accidentally hang up and you spend the next ten minutes frantically dialing each other at the same time and can't get through? Our solution is simple: whomever initially dialed the other person is in charge of calling back. That's it! It seems silly to even share since it's such a small detail, but when you talk to someone as frequently as we speak to each other, having a go-to system has really helped.
