I’ve featured chocolate chip cookies (and slight variations) a couple of times, but I think it’s fair to say I’d always hoped to find a recipe this flawless. I had actually read about these on Kate’s blog almost a year ago and I’d simply been waiting for the right time to make them. The truth is – they require some serious patience, something that I have very little of when it comes to cookie dough. The process itself isn’t difficult or time consuming, but the key to the magic is all in the wait time once the dough has been prepared (36 hours, to be exact). I baked up a batch for one of my best friend’s birthday and sure enough, they really were that good. It sounds silly to say, but they were truly the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had.

Much to the dismay of our teachers in high school, girls baring their midriffs (in spaghetti strap tank tops, no less) was pretty much a daily occurrence. And to make matters worse, the look was accompanied with low, hip-slung jeans and crop tops, which only increased the amount of skin being shown. As I approach thirty, the motto of “less is more” certainly rings true, but every once in a while, a sliver of skin (as long as it’s above the navel) is an unexpected way to spice up the look of a voluminous skirt and patterned blouse.

{View from the rooftop terrace at our hotel}
We arrived in Rome on Tuesday after an incredible wedding weekend (more details to come later!) and I’ve already fallen in love with the city. We’ve done our fair share of touristy stops, which we’ve balanced out with fantastic meals in tiny restaurants, tons of walking, and quite a bit of lounging at our hotel. It’s been a nice change of pace to not even have access to my phone and I can’t wait to explore the other cities on our itinerary.

Vintage Sunglasses, Rory Beca Dress c/o, Vintage Chanel Bag, Zara Heels
There are two ways to wear bright pieces – you can either tone them down with neutrals or go all out with similarly loud colors. I love that this dress is both voluminous with its billowsy sleeves, but undeniably flirtatious given the length. I decided it could only be improved by red vintage glasses and sandals in varying shades of citrus for a date night a couple weeks back.
