Since I’m leaving for New York tomorrow, I’ve been pulling out my winter staples that have been lying dormant in the back of my closet all season. This neglected faux fur vest (that’s sadly no longer available) is one of my favorite finds, since the back is knit, so it doesn’t feel too bulky. It’ll be the ideal layering piece under blazers or on top of sweaters for some of my more casual meetings over the next couple of weeks.

{A very special gift from Mulberry, just in time for NYFW}
I love those weeks when you’re finally able to tie up loose ends that have been left fraying for far too long. Our first dance song has been chosen (and slightly choreographed), I managed to squeeze in some time to meet up with a close friend over exceptional pizza (here), and carved out some time at night to read a magazine in bed. I’m so glad the weekend’s here, and these are five other things currently making me happy.

{An oddly sleek black toothbrush to add to my traveling case}

{New business cards from Walnut Paperie}

{Shelves filled with inspirational props at the Bash/Please offices}

{Pretty heart-shaped candies that are perfect for a mid-afternoon snack}

I’ll be honest – the only thing I care about when it comes to the Superbowl is the food and the commercials. Superbowl snacks should be indulgent, festive, and easy-to-eat, which is why I knew I had to make these the minute I spotted them in this month’s Martha Stewart Living (instructions here). They’re a sweet twist on a classic hamburger, with peanut butter cookies as the bun, brownies for the meat, and dyed shredded coconut and royal icing for the lettuce and ketchup. They’re a fun way to embrace game day without feeling too predictable.

Urban Outfitters Glasses, Ben Sherman Jacket, J.Crew Chambray Shirt, Blouse, and Belt, Hudson Pants, Nixon Watch, Hermes Bracelet, Mulberry Bag, Madewell Oxfords
This past weekend we woke up early on Sunday morning and drove straight for the beach. Compared to the beaches in Northern California, with quaint towns tucked along windy roads, the ones in Los Angeles just don’t excite me. They’re often loud and packed full of tourists (and don’t even get me started on the parking), but luckily for us, it was nearly deserted at 9am. So after a leisurely walk, we left just as the crowds started to arrive and ducked into our favorite spot for brunch.
