My love for leather skirts has been well documented on this site, but this one easily gets the most wear in my closet. I’m a sucker for box pleats and the length and cut of this skirt make it still feel refined and not overly preppy. We took these pictures in between brunch (at Zazie’s in the upper Haight) and some food shopping (at the Ferry Building) last weekend, after which I promptly changed into flats for the remainder of the afternoon.

Churros and Chocolate

A few weeks back, we made a quick trip down to Olvera Street and somehow left without picking up a couple of their dangerously addictive churros. Since I’d had some success with homemade doughnuts in the past, I decided to try my hand at these, with a cinnamon chocolate dipping sauce. I followed a very straightforward recipe (here) and they proved to be the ideal afternoon snack for last-minute guests.

City Slicker

Club Monaco Beanie, Elizabeth and James Sunglasses, H&M Top, Diana Slavin Pants, Reed Krakoff Bag, Elizabeth and James Heels
It’s not often that I can walk around San Francisco without wearing multiple layers. This past weekend we made several trips into the city, which was an accomplishment in itself. Though my parents live only a few minutes away, we rarely commit to any plans since their fireplace, full fridge, and hot tub are often too enticing to leave. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I left early this morning for a week filled with business meetings in New York.

Giving Thanks
This morning we’re piling into our car absurdly early (4:30am!) and heading up to my parents’ house in Mill Valley. My fiancé and I have been making this drive together for four years now, and it’s become one of my favorite traditions. The drive itself is long and quiet, but the anticipation (along with blankets, audio books, and plenty of snacks) makes it truly enjoyable. I have so much to be thankful for and am thrilled that I get to celebrate with my closest friends and family over a great meal. Happy Thanksgiving. x
