All Packed Up

June 21st, 2011

{A list that helps keep my overpacking to a minimum}

Just a little glimpse at my (totally crazy) method for packing. It takes a while from start to finish, but the process is oddly calming and ensures that nothing is left behind.

{Jewelry stored in an evening clutch}

{Colorful ribbons that help me identify which suitcase is mine}

{Light and dewy make-up for the humid weather}

{A bright new embroidered skirt for our trip}

{Flat sandals and wooden heels (hiking shoes not shown)}

{Two favorite straw hats}

{Colorful blouses and casual striped tops}

{Outfit set aside for the plane ride}

Checkered Brights

June 20th, 2011

Vintage Aviators and Necklace, Urban Outfitters Blouse, J.Crew Vest, Handmade Bracelet (by my mom), Zara Skirt, Leather Satchel Company Clutch, Fendi Wedges

Since all of my breezy basics and colorful tunics were packed away for our trip, I relied on muted brights for the duration of the weekend. I’d been searching for a vest version of my beloved military-inspired jackets (this and this), so I was ecstatic when I found the exact one at J.Crew while looking for a bathing suit. No swimwear was found, but I went home happy.

To Papa

June 19th, 2011

To the one who always makes me feel adored, answers my calls with true excitement and understands me better than just about anyone. Papa, I love you. Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers (and father figures) out there. xx

Five Things

June 17th, 2011

{Passports ready for packing}

This week has been insanely busy since I’ve been scrambling to get everything taken care of before we leave on Monday for a much-needed vacation. We’re headed to Costa Rica and I can’t wait to alternate between the pool and beach, eat great food and explore the country. And so that I can fully relax while I’m away, I have all my posts lined up for next week. Now I just have to pack up my suitcase with lots of light layers, bug spray and a little extra room to bring back Costa Rican coffee.

{A gifted Rebecca Minkoff cross-body bag that has just enough edge}

{Chevron + lime green = the perfect stationery c/o Walnut Paperie}

{I’ve been using vintage scarves in lieu of rubberbands}

{I’m loving the jacaranda-lined streets in L.A.}
