T by Alexander Wang Top, Anthropologie Skirt and Headband, Marc Jacobs Purse, Alexander McQueen Pumps
My closet is predominantly overrun by stripes. While they’re certainly not the most flattering of patterns, I find myself scooping them by the armfuls. This weekend I found this nautical skirt at Anthropologie and promptly changed in the dressing room so that I could wear it out of the store. Its simple pleats and voluminous shape are a slight departure from the usual skirts I drift towards, but the stripes make it fit perfectly with the rest of my wardrobe. Plus, who can resist something with a polka dot lining?

This past weekend my parents came to visit me in L.A. Even though I haven’t lived with them for years, I still find myself oddly homesick every time they leave. It brings me back to different parts of my life; from when I was a shy little girl to my years as a moody teenager. It was such a great place to grow up and until my next trip to Mill Valley, I’ll just have to remind myself of all the little things I miss about home.
·My mom’s homemade pizza. In the summertime, she would leave the dough to rise in a big yellow bowl in the front yard. I would pace in front of it for what seemed like hours until it was ready.
·Nightly fog. Though it never gets too hot in the Bay Area, the fog that inevitably rolls over the mountains is always a refreshing way to welcome the evening.
·The Depot. Mill Valley’s hub is the sweetest little area filled with coffee shops, cute boutiques and friendly people. I haven’t found anything quite like it in L.A.
What do you miss most about “home?”

I’d be happy dressing in slight variations of J.Crew’s entire spring line from here on out. A crisp blazer, t-shirt, tangle of chains and you’re out the door. Of course I’ll make sure things don’t ever get too monotonous by throwing on different pants (rolled up khakis one day and boyfriend jeans the next), switching between oxfords and wedges and occasionally doing my hair differently.

When I first moved into our apartment, my boyfriend and I each had our own bathroom. Now I share mine with Luna. Pretty perfume bottles have been replaced with leftover cat food crumbs and the smell of jasmine candles is overpowered by kitty litter. To say that I had given up on the idea of having a cute bathroom is a major understatement.

I finally decided that a few small changes would make a big impact. My first preference for the room was wallpaper, but since that’s a rather permanent fix for a temporary residence, I went with some patterned wall decals from blik.

{I let Luna decide where the decals should be placed}

{Applying the decals to the wall}

{On the opposite wall – green glass knobs from Anthropologie}

{An organized way to display all of my necklaces}
