Sweet Things
I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day and not because of the sappy romantic stuff. I love the process of doing little things for other people, even if it’s as simple as making cupcakes or writing a sweet note. I’ve been gradually collecting festive baking supplies for months and since February’s only days away, I found it appropriate to bring them out and put them to good use.
Also, I’ve added several pink rings (just in time for Valentine’s Day) and necklaces to my Etsy shop!
Update: All necklaces and rings have sold out. I will be adding more pieces to my shop shortly. xx

Prints Charming
You’d think I have some sort of aversion to graphic prints since almost every item in my closet is a solid color. The one exception is my love for stripes (as seen here, here, here and here), but even that is far and few between. This season, I’m determined to add a bit more spice to my outfits and luckily for me, there are plenty of prints from which to choose.
1. Marc by Marc Jacobs - $530
2. Leaves of Grass - $425
3. Forever 21 - $24.80
4. Forever 21 - $12.80
5. Topshop - $60
6. Milly - $325
7. Topshop - $50
8. Forever 21 - $18.90
9. Topshop - $80

Scent of a Woman
{My three favorite perfumes: Annick Goutal’s “Petite Cherie,” Serge Lutens’ “Fleurs D’Oranger” and Jo Malone’s “Honeysuckle and Jasmine”}
Scent plays an integral role in our lives, which is why I surround myself with lovely smelling things in my home. I tend to rotate between several perfumes, but always find myself drawn to ones that are light and floral. It’s such a subtle way to make a statement and I love that people associate me with a certain scent (like gardenias and jasmine). Here are a few of the other products that I love.
How do you add fragrance to you life and which are your favorites?
{My mom turned me onto Johnson’s Bedtime Bath and I love using it at night}
{Alora’s “Isola” fragrance makes our entire apartment smell fresh and floral}
{I got this Pikake Jasmine lotion during our trip to Maui last year and put it on when I want to be reminded of our tropical vacation}
{I love burning fragrant candles and Further’s is clean and simple}

Toasted Marshmallow Shakes
If there are marshmallows in the house, they won’t last more than a few days. I’m not even that crazy about them, but I still manage to shovel handfuls into my mouth, almost ritualistically, every time I pass by the kitchen. Toasting marshmallows (for S’mores) is one of my favorite summer activities, but it somehow loses its appeal in the dark months of winter.
I tried Stand’s famous Toasted Marshmallow Shake when I was in New York for Fashion Week (you can find posts on my trip here, here and here) and my boyfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about it since. It was amazingly decadent, with rich vanilla ice cream and golden marshmallows that were blended into the tastiest thing I’ve ever drunk. I finally found the recipe last week (here) and have been waiting for the perfect time to try it out. Turns out, it was yesterday at 3:30 on a random Monday afternoon and boy, was it sweet.

Clear Skies
Fluxus Sweater, Kimchi Blue Dress, Wren & Anthropologie Necklaces, Vintage Belt, Coach Clutch, Alberta Ferretti Sandals
I might have jumped the gun by wearing this gauzy dress at the first signs of sun this weekend. Though the air was amazingly clean after all of the rain (a rarity in L.A.), it was still brisk enough to have worn a down jacket and been perfectly comfortable.
On another note, I was shocked to find out that I am nominated for the 2010 Bloggies as a finalist for the top fashion blog of the year! I’m really humbled to be in the same company as these blogs (um, The Sartorialist and The Cut, are you serious?) but I would absolutely love your support. She’s My Kind of Rain
Since the past few days have been dark and stormy, I feel like I’ve somehow experienced my first harsh winter. I know that throwing on my Hunter boots doesn’t exactly classify as arctic conditions, but nonetheless, I’ve been having a bit of trouble coping. You can only have soup for lunch so many times and even the concept of curling up to watch movies has become tiresome. For those of you that actually experience really cold temperatures for months at a time, what are your tips/tricks for not going stir crazy? Now if you’ll excuse me, my hot and sour soup should be arriving in moments and I’ve got a movie to finish.

Shirts and Dresses
Kettle Black Shirt Dress Planet Blue), Vintage Aviators, Express Belt, Hue Tights, Foley + Corinna, Jeffrey Campbell Platforms
I have a mild obsession with shirt dresses. Unfortunately, most of them make me look preggers or elicit awkward looks from people who think I forgot my bottoms. This Kettle Black number not only cinches in just the right amount at the waist, but the little ruffles along the front ensure that nobody will mistake it for something I stole from my boyfriend. Not that there’s anything wrong with that (exhibits A & B).
