Crave or Save
I’m a big fan of simple clothes paired with bold jewelry. My mom first introduced me to Lanvin’s cluster necklace a few months back and I was enamored with the striking gemstones paired with a casual, grosgrain ribbon. Of course that kind of price is capable of turning your stomach so naturally, I moved on. Forever 21’s bib necklace packs the same dramatic punch, but with a much more manageable price. I swiped one up immediately when I saw it last week and I can’t wait to pair it with some of my plain, crew neck tops.

Dancing Dreams
As a little girl, I rarely wore anything besides my tutu and fireman’s hat (together, I might add). I still have a fascination for anything that resembles ballerina attire, which brought about my love for these Capezio studded ballet slippers. It’s such a great twist on a sweetly classic look so I threw together a few more pieces that instill that I’m-a-ballerina-off-duty vibe.

Brunch and Beach
I’m definitely what you would call a creature of habit. I like to reserve my Sundays for multiple naps (seriously – one in the morning and one in the late afternoon), long strolls to get coffee and organizing my apartment for the week. Yesterday was a welcomed change when we had friends over for brunch then jumped into their car and found one of the most remote beaches in Malibu.
{Smoked Ham, Gruyere and Carmelized Onion Fritatta}
{Our friends have the coolest portable record player that’s perfect for the beach. We provided the Cool Ranch Doritos.}

L.A. Institution
This week marks the 75th Anniversary of the Original Farmers Market by the Grove. It was one of the first places I would visit when I moved to L.A. and the same spot my grandma bought her produce many years ago. It’s home to nearly every kind of ethnic food and a great place to people watch and witness a little bit of Los Angeles magic.
{Stools by Loteria Grill}
{English teas}
{Lights under the awning}
{Cold pitcher of beer}
{Choosing my ice cream flavor}
I went with vanilla dipped in chocolate.

I Want Candy
A few days ago I had my first Pop-Tart in what must have been 15 years. Let me just say that the experience left me horribly dissatisfied. This spurred an hour-long conversation with my co-workers about all of the amazing junk food that originated in the 80’s. To my constant disapproval, my mom was all about healthy everything so I felt deprived for oh…an entire decade. That didn’t curtail any of my excitement, though when I came across all of the treats I craved as a kid. I just love all of the simple graphics, bright colors and processed goodness.
Which foods most represent the 80’s to you?

Top Selection
I have an entire section of my closet dedicated to blouses, but currently it’s only occupied by empty hangers. I own a lot of t-shirts, but when it comes to tops that are slightly more fancy, I have a hard time finding ones that are just right (even this one is missing the bottom button!). Here are some of the more promising options that are great alternatives to my American Apparel tissue-thin t’s.
Thin Straps
Mink Pink: $55
Forever 21: $17.80
Ishi: $240
Flutter Sleeves
Free People: $68
Forever 21: $24.80
Free People: $108
Embellished
Antik Batik: $425
Topshop: $65
Arden B. : $48
Is there a section of your closet that’s seriously lacking?

Small Packages

Vintage Aviators, Forever 21 Top, BB Dakota Shorts, Jenny Yuen Bag, Michael Kors Watch, Vintage Bracelet, Seychelles Heels
I used to exclusively carry large purses since I simply had too much stuff to cart around (or so I thought). I now realize that two extra pairs of sunglasses, different flavors of gum and several magazines are not imperative to have with me at all times. Thanks to the ladies over at Jenny Yuen, who sent over my lovely Gia bag, I’ve successfully paired down my necessities to fit perfectly into this buttery leather purse.
